As much as I would love a mass effect movie (so long as it doesn't follow the video game to movie curse) I doubt I could find myself watching it - it would destroy the illusion that my Shepherd is the shepherd.

Wow, this is great news! I hope they do something with the same characters too. All new characters would not be as good, though I would hate to see the same story. Maybe something inbetween the novel and first game?

Considering that some of the voice actors are good screen actors as well, we should get some perfection transition of game characters to movie characters.

Seth Green = Joker

Maybe we will see the likes of Martin Sheen too!

Jilian Murray looks good enough for Liara and she is acting in a few movies now, so maybe we will see her. Knowing hollywood we will probably see someone else. Considering that she was voiced by someone else, we will probably see someone entirely new for the voice and the performace.


If they had to replace Thane with someone who is a better actor, I wouldn't mind seeing Lance Henriksen. He is old, but Thane requires a lot of makeup.


Other speculation for characters:

Chris Evans for Commander Shepard would be nice, though I have seen Matthew Fox mentioned before.

I get that same feeling everytime I see the box art for the game. My shepard doesn't look anything like the official one. But as long as they get a actor that looks like that Shepard, I would be ok with it.

I think it'd be good to cover either anderson's backstory or the first contact wars or perhaps even the war with the...bug lobster things ( I forget their name >.&gt That way you avoid the conflict of Shepards between game and movie and provide extra information on things you hear about in the game.

Sadly, this will probably go the way of Halo if it's live action. There haven't been a lot of promising game-to-movie translations in the past.

The LA Halo looks like it is never going to happen. Looks like Peter Jackson worked on it long enough to get a custom Warthog that he could drive to work. I bet they try and get him for this too and he will end up with a Mako. ;D

Most Video Game movies do get screwed up. Then again maybe the decade of comics is finally over and good Video Game movies are coming out? We have this and from what I hear, Deadspace is getting a good movie treatment.
