I've not gotten much into Spore, but this looks neat to my little bro who's much more interested in the game. :P

I agree. Too many open ended games these days are anything but. Spore, Fable, etc.

Actually, Fabe 2 has got me addicted when I play on it. Yes theres dissapointments from the "multiplayer" angle, but other than that it's a good solid game. Compare it with the hype that spore got...

I meant Fable 1, I haven't played F2 but I hear it's not nearly as in depth as it claimed to be. IMO Peter Molyneux (sp) just doesn't deliver on his games anymore.

Spore's been nothing but trouble for me on my new rig.

Graphical glitches out the wazzoo. I think it has something to do with "Geometric Instancing", but my Sapphire Radeon HD4830 seems to be unable to properly create planetary terrain without creating huge ridges and trenches in a seemingly tiled or fractal pattern around the surface of the globe...

*Commences studying ways around this issue*

PM did promise alot, I'll give you that, but what came out was still a fantastic little game.

What was wrong with Fable 1?

I agree, while F1 was nothing what it was hyped to be, I still had quite a lot of enjoyment playing it.

The fact that is was way to linear. Side quests weren't nearly as entertaining or numerous as I would have liked. You can't go exploring on your own, you have to follow set paths through a forest. It ended up being more of a hack n' slash than the "Morrowind Killer" it was hyped to be. Being evil or good wasn't that big of a deal. I mean there were a lot of things that were wrong with it, but it was still a very fun game to play, just not what was promised.

As a result I pretty much ignored any promises of what F2 was going to be. Just gonna buy it for myself once I get my xbox here from the states. I figure if I go into it with a clean slate with no expectation, I'll be a lot more happy with it.
