Default Beowulf doesn't have nothing on this guy....

Part of the opening cinematic from Too Human. Damn this is nice. Although with that being Grendel, I hate to think what his mother looks like.

Eh, looks cool, but looks a lot like Devil May Cry...except future-y.

some things in devil may cry worked quite well.

Perhaps they integrated some ideas; the "classes" like the "styles" in devil may cry 3 appear to be the first thing.

one caters to a specific orient of fighting.

Coincidently, devil may cry featured styles oriented to gun specialists, melee specialists, dodging, and pure defense.

theres a "class" oriented to shooting, one "class" for melee, one for defensive/melee combination (berserker AKA trickster) I am not sure if royal guard applies here, but I need to look into a bit more before confirming everything.

if they make it hard to make the game longer, this might just be a simple devil may cry, or if not an inevitably that gamers play in particular styles anyways.

I think class selections will always be a generic thing, really. There are only so much you can do

From the demo, this plays nothing like DMC, doesn't even use the same engine IIRC, so don't worry about that.

And the story is amazing

I wasn't really trying to say anything about gameplay, I simply made an observation. The guy pulled out two guns, and has a sword strapped to his back. He's fighting a large monster. He has insane reflexes and time stops around him to show off his moves. His sword is, not surprisingly, more effective at beating the beast than his guns are.

It just looked like future-y DMC to me. It may very well play very differently and not be the same game at all, I based my judgement purely on what I saw. I'm not saying that's what it is. :P

If I had a 360 I'd buy it.

Thats a fair point, I can see the similarity.

I suppose you could say - think DMC, more futurelike, with Vikings (which naturally equal win)

Played the demo, and wasn't too impressed:

-crappy voice acting
-poor combat system
-poor upgrade system
-what's the penalty for dying?

Anyways, it looks interesting to say the least, but I'm not sure if I will pick it up when it comes out. The storyline seems good but I'm very disappointed with the gameplay, basically all you do is push the right stick in the direction of the enemies and you rush over there and attack.

I was hoping it would be like DMC, atleast combat wise...oh well, I'll have to see what it's like once it's finished.

Have we played the same demo? :P

I agree on dying, there doesn't appear to be any penalty, but that could be demo specific, as there is no save ability, and it get damn annoying to have to start the demo again as you can't go back to a save, a la Mass Effect.

Not sure where you're basing the other points, but its your opinion so I won't argue pointlessly over it

Release Date August 4th..... one week after payday. Can't wait.

lol thanks, and yes, we played the same demo.

I dunno I just didn't have fun with it, pointing the stick in a direction and watching as I hit a guy over and over.

I would have liked to see combos, more fluid combat and possibly a reason to pull out your ranged weapons (although that would change if you picked a different class)

I'll wait until it comes out, play it at my friend's house, and then see if I want it or not.
