Default Morrowind

I got morrowind a few days ago finally for PC... made a wood elf Theif-spearman-marksman. Just been wandering around and doing theives/mage guild quests. Anyone still play this gem of a game?

I still play it now and again - but ive done everything that was worth doing.

Even the mods don't keep it going. It just can't compete with the way you play in oblivion - and the animations.

I re-played it this past summer with all the expansions, except I used a lot of mods the second time around. Definitely fun, although it does have its drawbacks. One thing I missed about Morrowind when I played Oblivion was levitation...that was one handy spell

Morrowind is the only Eldar Scrolls game I own currently. It's fun, but it feels like the only two routes are 1. fight or 2. steal. I hear Oblivion is a hundred and one times better, though. :-\

Each has its own pros and cons, which you can find discussed ad nauseum in any TES forum. Hardcore RPGers will enjoy the technical depth of Morrowind, while I see Oblivion as more of an experience than a game. The reason I say this is, I would much rather wander around in Oblivion in its resplendent beauty than wander around in Morrowind, where I'll be pecked to death by those damn cliff racers. God, I hate those things.

I know what you mean. I've got my Wood Elf Theif-Archer up to level 4, so theres all these cliff racers flying about, but I'm a wood elf theif! I have all of 50 hp and barely any worthwhile combat skills. I have to keep an eye out and hit them from long range sneak-attacking with my bow, or run like hell with the Boots of Blinding Speed to the nearest town so the guards can take care of them...

there are no spears in Oblivion.

anyways, I got my start on the Elder Scrolls playing Morrowind. I played the heck out of that game, and i really liked the way you could instantly create your own spells, and delete spells! (very handy)

I also liked wearing robes over your armor. But I had to turn the shadows off because the shadows did not show robes.

Those cliff racers are easy enough to use beast charm on though, I remember using that skill a lot.

Or failing that find a mod that removes them - easy enough.

Anyone else get the mod that stops them spawning when you kill a certain number? Hunt the little bastards into extinction. >

I'm liking Oblivion a lot better, comparing gameplay and graphics.
