going to get the game because some people i know[sort of, where im the same clan] play it, and was wondering if anyone from here plays it and what they think of it.

I haven't played in quite a while (MMOs nerf your skill :'() but I love the game... great graphics, great weapons effects.

I have a friend who played it 'louder than hell, faster than ****' style; souped-up high end computer and surround sound so loud that the windows rattle when a grenade goes off !

I may get it, but I'm stilll thinking if it's worth it or not..I have enough shooter games already..

cs:S? I think it's pretty good. The graphics are good, its pretty easy to find servers to play on (Unless you don't like the dust maps... : ), and if you aren't interested in playing online, the game's got some good AI to play against.

One thing that should be noted though is that cs:S seems to get rid of one of the modes the original game had for some odd reason. So there are only two modes in the game instead of the original's 3.

what modes? ive never played the original[nor CSS]

The original game had bomb-defuse, where the impetus was mainly on the Terrorists but both sides had to rush to the bomb site(s), hostage rescue in which the Counter-Terrorists had to rush the Terrorist spawn point, and VIP escort, which I've never played - there is a CS:S mod for it, but it's not actually part of the Source version of the game.

I forget, is Source the one that sucks, or is that CZ?

I've wanted to get Source for a while, I used to love Counter Strike. I played on dial-up, but had fun times nonetheless...

Condition Zero is the bad one, because it's porting arguably the world's most successful online game... into a single-player-only one.
