[spacmarine2000]

Hey, im a regular player of Battlefield 2, but just recently, since patch 1.4 was released, the game has been crashing the whole PC regularly to the point of a total freeze and prompting me to press the ominous reset button. My computer is completely compatible with the game, able to run it at medium settings, and with an ATI Radeon 9550 Series graphics card. I have downloaded the BF2142 Demo and the same happens with that. I had the suspician that it could have been a conflicting program that kicks in during running the game, but i have run a diagnostic and nothing was found, same for Viruses using Norton. I was thinking that it could be Windows XP update kicking in half way through, as there have been some issues with BF2142 (which uses the same engine) and a Windows update file, but i am not sure. If it is to do with Windows updates, then i am not preppeared to stop the updates or delete any, as this seems to me like one of the most stupid things to do: EA updates for Microsoft, not the other way round. So, with everyone being so freindly on these forums, i was wondering whether anyone else had been experiencing these problems and if they had any solutions to them? I have asked other BF2 forums, but alas to no avail, so just thought i'd try here as well, just in case.
