Armament is to fit in with the following 1500 pt list and is likely to replace a few of the Kopters:
1 Warboss Klaw, B.pole, H. Though why take Deffdread instead of Kans? I think most people would say the same thing.
Anyways, don't bother with anything else other than Skorchas or DCCW. But I think Skorcha can be alot of help seeing you lack have to footslog, and most of the time it's fun to burn people before charging in. Kinda reducing the resistance before plunging into the fight.

Welshy, don't give us the upgrade point costs. We all have da codex and you might bring down da big bad GW gitz on us.
You've got a lot of rokkitz in the form of your deffkoptaz and one more BS 2 klunker isn't probably going to do that much. I'd probably stick with the classic skorcha/3xccw option. It's versatile and easy to convert. Big shootaz are always an option if you like dakka though. A word of advice - give him grot riggers and armor plates. You won't regret it - orky promise. Quote:

interesting point re: Kans. But I've got my grubby mits on a new plastic Dread, but if you (or anyone) feels that a Kan mob would be better, (and with what armament) then I shall also open that to the floor.

3 Kans with Grotzookas is amazing.
Also, its pretty cheap, and can have a 4+ cover from a mek ![]()

If you're taking a Dread then with this list you could get away with 4 CCWs on him. Hide him in with the Boyz and charge when you can. You've got enough Boyz on foot that any shots you lend before you charge isn't going to be a huge deal most likely so take the extra attacks.

With 30 footsloggers, its not THAT speed freaky :P It means your dread wont get left behind though.
I ticked "other" because if your taking out koptas you could use some AT firepower. 2 Rokkits. Its not THAT expensive, and with 2 shots your chances of hitting arent THAT bad. I'd go with KMB but they are a little pricey, but terminator armoured characters hate them ![]() Zambia

While I much prefer Kans over Dreads, I think that 4 DCCWs is way too much, IMHO. Sure, you get 5 attacks base, but you could take things like a Skorcha (Those are awesome for Orks. No roll to hit, I'll take it) and Kustom Mega Blastas, which are deadly to anything you manage to hit :P
[hr] About the Kans, though: For less points per model, you can put out 6 Small blasts from one unit, and you follow the rules of Vehicle Squadrons (Free Extra Armor, but Immobilized becomes wrecked). Also, you can take some Deffkoptas, or a KFF and obscure them and give them a 4+ cover save. Unfortunately, they suck in Combat, but they are a grot in a dreadnaught suit, so they have a pretty good BS (For Orks, that is)
