Default Ork wierdboyz

when wierdboyz use their physichic powers, can they kill their own guys? i know that the first one centers a template around himself, so can it hit your own guys?

Yes, if you roll an eadbanger result you'll end up cooking the boyz he's mobbed up with, which will make all the other Orks laugh hysterically. That is why a lot of people place the actual model at the edge of the unit spaced exactly 2" from the nearest boy so only one wound can be caused by the psychic overload. Most people upgrade to a warphead too so you can reroll that result of a "1". I've still had it happen though, and its still funny. If you have him mounted in a vehicle it causes a single strength 6 hit on the rear armor instead of hurting the boyz.

Yes, when you roll that one result, you place the small blast template over the wierdboy, and since the attack auto-hits it doesn't scatter. With smart placement you can have this attack only hit two units total which is a small price to pay for such a powerful unit. 36 inch melta that auto hits makes landraiders fear me!

weirdboyz are probably my favorite HQ in my army, and I love sticking them in mobs of shoota boys and tankbustas. If your really worried about 'eadbanger, then just make him a warphead.

2 wierdboys with the warhead upgrade, and 6 units of trukkboyz, and whatever else to meet the points limit. First turn:
Trukk----13in--->2"->WAAAGH D6"->Assault6"-X Wooo! You just went 21+D6 inches! Gotta love that 6 roll! Sure, it doesn't work EVERY time, but you roll a dice 4 times, and all you need is 1 six.

Don't forgot that you could also have up to 3 squads of Nobs in trukks aswell.
I do believe this would be an amazing alternative to normal Speed Freaks. Certainly would be fast ;D.

I have. And it worked well. You just need a 6 or you'll be fighting an uphill battle.
