Default Idea for Dakka Army

Hiya,

I'm an Ork player and fairly new at it, I was wondering out of the other army list I saw, I wouldn't say I want an army that's perfect, I just want a list that I can start with.

Currently I'm going this roughly so I was thinking of going 2:1 ratio for dakkas and choppas.

I'm not gonna go big on wargear yet and my points are probably at 750 for now.

HQ
1 x Warboss

Elite
10 xNobs

Troop
2 x 10 Shootas
5 x Lootas.

Any ideas on what to add in between? I want to have something to shoot at, and have the Nobs to engage anyone close, Lootas to stop any flankers.

Units of 10 that are on foot are going to get decimated quickly. You're better off combining those Shoota into a single unit of 20. If you want to run them smaller, as you have them, then get yourself some Trukks to give them a ride and keep them safer. Also, your Lootas are not a troop, they are elite, but your Nobs are a troop because of your Warboss, you just have it backwards.

My bad then,I guess I have to read the codex again and again!

I was thinking to save myself some trouble by having smaller Shoota Squad. I guess I was wrong on that.

Why aren't the Nobs elite though? I'm just abit tad confuse on that.

the idea of mine is a 2000 point army that can outshoot tau. im going to field test this this thursday, so ill let u know how it works.

Warphead *2
15 lootas(no meks) *3
Kommandos W/ snikrot
30 Shoota boyz *2
4 deffkoptas 2w/big shootas, 2w/rokkits
3 lobbas *2 (w/ ammo runts +max crew)
3 zzap gunz (w/ ammo runts +max crew)

the idea is to attach teh warpheads 2 the shootas, and teleport behind enmy lines. the deff koptas are to deal with any infiltrating units, but are very versatile and can preform most battle roles

Read the entry for Warboss in the HQ unit listing and note the area that says "Da Big Boss".

This list is illegal as there is too many elite choices.

Sorry Thor but I don't see that in the codex, is it on page 32 on Warboss?

Ah,I found it, my bad.

Is having 'ard boyz worth it in terms of distracting the enemy enough to be picked off by shootas?
