Default Eavy armor or Grot Riggers?

Hi there, So my question is simple. Do I spend 20 points on eavy armour for my 4 nobz in my boyz squads or do I spend it on Grot Riggers for my 4 trukks? I donít know what would be most useful. I understand the benefit of both but cant decide.

Riggers for trukks are more-or-less a waste of points. The reason I say that is because riggers are used in the shooting phase, not the movement phase, so that means you can either sit there and try and fix the trukk or you can have your boyz bail out and hoof it. More often than not you're better off getting out of the trukk and going on foot because at least that way you are moving forward.

The 'eavy armor isn't so much needed. The Nob is in with the boyz and he can't be singled out. That being said, it can come in handy when you trukk blows up and he has to take a save or when you're low on bodies and he's forced to start taking saves. It's not essential to have, but of the two choices you gave I'd take the 'eavy armor.

Grot Riggers. For sure. Having 'Eavy armour on a Nob is near worthless, as in MOST cases, you use majority armour, (when wounds don't wrap around the unit) and as such, the only benefit is when the nob is the only one left standing, in which case, there's a good chance that he's running away. I've found grots to be a must on vehicles.

What's in the rest of your list? I say don't buy either. I'd rather have more combi skorchas, rokkits on trukks/boyz, or a kannon.

i only put eavy armour on Nobz units, not on squad-leader nobz. because nobz units deserves protection and do all use same save in that case. i never spend on anything on my trukks, i keep them cheap
