i have been asked teh start a post about the Ork grot-launchers, by which i think he means my Grot steerers on rokkits.....basically, for 2 points a model you can re-roll the dice to hit, as the grot sort of, shifts his weight to steer the rokkit towards the target.

I do really like using Grot Bomb Launchas. They are listed in the Imperial Armour II book on pages 32 and 33. Basically one gets a one shot weapon that uses the small template with a very high strength and enough AP to make it an instant Marine killer. The good thing about these things is the ability to reroll the scatter dice if one doesn't like the first results. You HAVE to accept the second scatter roll however.

The first respose one usually gets on Grot Bomb Launchas is that, being a one shot wonder, most players dismiss them. Indeed many a player has thought I was crazy to spend even the low amount of points that one costs. Such players are very mistaken!
This thing almost comes close to upsetting the game mechanics! I now use only ONE. This basically gives me a 50/50 chance to take out that Basilisk/Wirlwind that the imperials love to drag along. A 50/50 shot is fair enough. I actually have 4 Grot Bomb Launchas, but I have only played them all at once a single time. It is possible (if one uses all three heavy support slots) to take a total of three groups of three (nine total). This would be insane in my humble opinion! Depending as to how close an opponent groups their units, I'd say it would be possible to completely wipe two fulls squads of Fire Warriors right off the table!

Grot Bomb Launchas also have uses AFTER they have been fired, take a table quarter, move close (within 6 inches) of a unit thats about to break and keep it from regrouping, block line of sight and (my personal favorite) blowing up on a enemy unit that blows it on a five or six (open topped).

Even some RT games are finally allowing Forge World models that cost less then 50 points each. You'll probably start seeing these in more RT games.

All in all a very useful units. Ignore them at your peril and make sure that they get special attention from your own artillary.

I think that wot is intended is actually grots attached to rockets, as in a conversion...
Not the Grot Bomb Launchas...i may be mistaken as my knowledge of Orks ends at green skins...

Actually RJay' that first conversion I showed only had a hatch on it to represent a Grot beginning inside. Maybe this jpg will help.
