The other day I prouldly displayed my slowly growing ork force on the unit in my living room. Convinced that my force had enough to play a 1,500 pts force I added up what I have ready to play and found that I have over 2,000 pts. Now to me my army looks too small with a model count just pushing past 100 and I wonder how big other players force's are? how big is your ork force and how effective is it?

If I include everything I own, vehicles, artillery and of course Ork bodies, I come in at 175 models. I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out how many points that is, but I'd say it's in the ballpark of 3 - 3.5k if it could all be fielded at once.
Like anyone really, I'm far from done collecting and expanding. However, with what I do have, I've been happy with how it plays. You can't really qualify effectiveness with a model count, so much depends on what you do have, your style and who you play. |

I would say I own 5-6000 points of Orks with well over 250 models. Most of which are unregretable not painted. :'(

I'm just starting out, but my current 1K points army (around 400 points painted) has a bodycount of 40 Orks, riding three Trukks and one Battlewagon. The reason I have as many draws as I do is that I usually overlook a single scoring MODEL of the enemy, that occupies an objective in the last turn (never ever go first against Eldar - they'll rape you in your last turn).
I think that pure bodycount alone doesn't tell you everything - my 1.500 point force will contain 54 Orks, 10 Grots, and an additional Battlewagon. The BWs make up for the lack of bodies, and make sure that something safely arrives in the enemy deployment zone (especially with the force multiplier KFF). Same thing with Ravensquig or Deffwing armies - they have a low model count, but make up for it with sheer resistance and generally with being more tough than a Marine army. Cheers, -Bone |

That's plenty for a normal sized game, assuming we're talking 1.5k, which seems the norm for most. You've got 3 good sized scoring units, 4 if you use the Warboss for the Nobz to troops. You have some speed and plenty of anti-armor. Not sure why you think you're lacking a good sized army.

Your body count looks fine and you have enough variety for 1,500 pt games. By comparison at 1,500 points I typically have 80 models in the lineup, which includes 3 looted vehicles. All told I have:
20 Shoota boyz 80 Slugga boyz 8 Lootas (gotta buy more, sometimes I proxy in some shootas to swell the ranks) 2 Meks 25 Nobz (various builds) 12 Deffkoptas 4 Warboss’ 2 Painboyz 2 Looted wagons 1 Looted boom wagon |

Really don't dispair!
Many, many lists don't go over 100 models. Most of my 1850 lists don't go over 100, unless of course I need more grots for some reason. Personal collection: 2000-2500 total points 150ish models. Maybe 10% painted. Best, -BT |
