Default Re: Ork Strategy & Tactics - 5th Edition - Heavy Support

Ok so I finally got some $ saved up to invest in the Orks. And I want some heavy support (dunno I feel like that's what I'm strongly lacking at the moment) So i'm bumping this thread back in hopes that I can get some advice. I'd like to let it be known for those who don't know yet, that i AM a power gamer I play to win so I don't particularly care for how pretty a unit looks, I am more interested in what's best and reliable. I'm sure an argument can be made for any unit in the codex but I know there's some things that works better than others and thats where I have no clue.

So far i've set my eyes on the Big Gunz batteries and I really want some opinions on those. They seem ridiculously cheap which I like. Are these any good? And which ones are best?

Also on the Deff Dread how good is he? I did some killing power comparisons and it seems that statistically equipping him with guns is a very bad idea. However giving him extra dreadnaught cc weapons or giving him a pair of skorchas seem to make him super productive. What are your recommendations? And should I even bother with a Deff Dread?

I am VERY open to suggestions at this point so just because I mentioned these 2 doesn't mean I aint interested in the other options. For the sake of completeness here's a list of what I currently own since it's also important to get stuff that has good synergy with what I already have.

1. Big Mek
15 Nobs (base)
4 Nobs w/Power Klaw
72 Slugga Boys
8 Boyz w/Big Shootas
12 Deff Koptas w/Twin-Linked Rokkits
