Hey
With the new Orks, I am interested in renewing my Orky love, but I don't want to get on the battlewagon (haha, that's funny) by starting a Trukk force or hoarde army.
So I am wanting something more unique. Then I thought of a Clank Mob.
Basically, for 750 points, I take two Big Meks with Powerklaws, 3x Grot Oilers, and a Kustom Force Fields. Then, I take two Deff Dreads as troops, with 4x Dreadnought Weapons, Grot Riggas, Armour Plates, another of the same as Heavy Support, then two single units of Deff Koptas with Buzz Saws for fast scoring and tying up units.
So, tell me, is this a viable army? Worth all my money and effort?

It'd look sweet, but you'd have a total of 8 models on the board. With Armor 12 at best. Im not so sure you really can avoid using boys. I'd suggest proxying the force first.

Perhaps you can field a bunch of killa kans in stead of 2 of the dredds? I mean, they are more numerous? They are pretty cheap too.

Yes, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the Clank Mob, as he would have to take boyz or gretchin as troops instead of the deff dreads.

I'd probably skip the two heavy support dreads and go for some kans. A couple more models on the bored should help, even if they aren't quite as killy as the dread.

As a side note:
While this is an interesting idea, I think your Storm Wave idea is much more fun. Modeling wise and gameplay wise, I think there are just so many more things you can do with them.

These types of armies are called Dreadmobs btw. Remember, no Army can survive without infantry though, and this is especially true in the case of a Dreadmob. Thats said, you'll want the Koptas for tying up enemies, Burna Boyz for keeping extra Mekboyz at hand, and a unit of Ard Boyz for ablative wounds...use the Killa Kans and Dreads to screen your Ard Boyz who in turn soak up powerfist wounds and help with outnumbering checks.

I think if you work in some firepower this list could be viable. All your units are pure close combat, they'll get mopped.

Killa kanz would be a great addition to this list, and overall I think this list would be much better in larger games. In 750 points you're pushing yourself to the limit by taking so few models.

Are warbuggies allowed? Looted wagons and battlewagons? Shokk attack gun?
