Default Killa kan/Dred loadout

I'm going to make me a dred mob. I don't have the codex and anyway it will need to be from the new codex so:

Can anyone tell me how many and what weapons dreds and killa kans can get in the new 'dex (not points).

Da Killa Kanz have one dreadnought close combat weapon and a choice of any one of five shooty type weapons (including the new Grotzooka). The BS of Killa Kanz has been kicked up to a BS3.

The new Deff Dread takes two dreadnought close combat weapons and can add another two dreadnought close combat weapons for a total of five attacks (six on a charge) or they can add a pair of various shooty weapons.

I think the only thing the Dread can't have that a Kan can, is the Grotzooka.

so waht are the actuall shooty weapons each can have?

List of ones I know from WD Jan and this thread.

Dreds:

big shoota
rokkit launcha

Killa Kanz:

big shoota
grotzooka
rokkit launcha


so, what other one are there?

Dread - big shoota, rokkit launcha, kustom mega blasta, and skorcha
Kan - big shoota, rokkit launcha, kustom mega blasta, skorcha, and grotzooka

OK, plan is to give them all big shootas apart from the big dred which will have to kustom mega blastas.






Now I've got a new question, what exactly is a kustom mega blasta?

its an orky plasma cannon

I also think that the kmb would be more usefull on the kans due to their better BS

as this is for my ferals I think I'll stick with only one vehicle with kustom mega blastas and that will be the lead vehicle, probably a dred.

KMBs have been nerfed...they no longer are blast template, but don't cause glancing hits on your vehicles...they're better suited to character assassination or tank-hunting now.

The Kan Grotzooka is an ok weapon, it's cheap, it's blasty, it'll give non-MEQ armies a lot of pain...if only it were a bit longer ranged...Rokkit Launchas or Megablastas work well on these bad-boys though.

For yer Dreads, yer gonna wanna get in tussling range ASAP, so some Skorchas would be a nice open-upper.

On Kans I think big shootas and rokkits are the no-brainer weapons with a BS3. The other choices, though nice, are more situational.
