Default Orky idea?

Alright, I guess I caught the Ork Virus with the arrival of the new minis.

Though Im not completely "green", when it comes to Orks (I`ve already commanded a rather unsuccessful Gorkamorka Mob :P), I`m not that sure about the background of my force.

Basically, Id like to field a rather shooty force, with loads of pimped shoota boys, some of them mounted on Pikk-Ups for "drive-bys", accompanied by all sorts of fancy stuff (depends on new `Dex)

As for my background, well, I was thinking about calling them "Gunz Workshop" (with a red/yellow colour scheme ;D - though that`s really all the reference I wanna bring, I don`t want to overdo it, and it is a "serious" force, not a "fun" army). They`d be "Free Tradaz", travelling from ork colony to Ork colony aboard their Factory-Hulk "Gun Monga".
They basically land on a planet, buy as much beer/vehicles/fancy stuff they can find, and offer their fabricated, oversized and overpriced shootaz for sale.
Most of the time, after the "Gun Monga" has left the system, the Kustomaz realise that they A sold all of their beer, B bought fancy new weapons - which are incompatible with their stockpiled ammunition, C have spent most of their teeth in the process and D most of their Mekz have run off with GW since they offer more "kreatiff freedom"...

Most of the time, the "Gunz Workshop" Krew stays away from any engagments (though they are known to plunder sites of space engagements, to have raw material for their shootaz), though they often have to "enforce" contracts made with various Ork Klans, and they are also known to "test" their products against other races.

I just wanna know if this is a somewhat roky background, and would be acceptable.

Most of it makes sense except for the "stays away from engagements" part. Almost all Orks want to fight. Some, like the Blood Axes, are just a little sneakier about it!

As IVEATCH mentioned, Orks avoiding fighting is pretty much unheard of.

The other inconsistancy - GW = creative freedom? ROFL!

As said, I only wanted the name and the colour scheme, no other inspiration was drawn from our GW...

Awright, then Ill make their fluff a little more aggressive... thanks for the feedback, guys.

Now, let`s hope the rumours about the Ork Codex are accurate ;D

Judging from the leaked summary page, I'd say the rumours are unnervingly accurate... Some nice fluff there anyhow, sounds like a Bad Moonz klan if there ever was one! ;D

Yeah, sounds quite Bad-Moonish to me, but they really accept members of most Klans in their rank, as long as they love big guns and accept terrible working times - of course, most of the management (including the "CAO - Central Axekutiff Ork") are from the Bad Moon Klan

I guess I`ll also include Grotz, since, you know, someone actually has to do all the hauling and lifting
Of course, this depends whether they`ll get new models - any rumours into this direction?

Well, nobody's seen any sculpts of new Grotz yet so I wouldn't bet on that one. On the other hand, Killa Kanz are now piloted by Grotz... how about a conversion of a Grot in a power lifter swinging around a crateful of Shootaz?
