What is your favorite ork unit and WHY (why is a must please)?

Favorite Unit: Kommandos

Why: I tend to field dem in 5's with a rokkit for 55pts or if I'm agaist somting very big that goes boom 70 pts with tank bustas. These boys can INFILTRATE which means they are a pest especially if your opponent doesn;t realize that they can or how many you are infiltrating. Sure they have no Armour but that is what terrian is for...put them in it for a cover save or behind something to block da view. 5 boyz in CC is nothing to laugh at with the first round giving them 2o attacks. The key with dem is to time when they are exposed to be shot at...you want to pull them out of hiding when your main force or footsloggers are in range to be lit up as well. Run them out to that close by unit...if you die well they wasted ammo on 5 messly orks...if they live and make it CC then da boyz have less people shooting at dem. Over all 95% of the time i get at least 100 pts back from dem if not more. Even killed a hammer head and a XV8 Battlesuit Commander in one game with dem.

Slugga Boyz all the way; they can crack tanks open on their way into combat with rokkitz and *if* they make it into assault, they're absolutely brutal.

*Grumbles about multiple Sisters units with maxed-out flamers getting the jump on my boyz*.

Plain and simple. They are cheap.
They are many. They have 4 attacks on the charge.
They have choppas. They have sluggas.

They are great.

Mega armour, because they are just plain cool. I greatly enjoy converting up some mega armoured nobs, and if you actually get the chance to get them in combat they are fairly unstoppable. They are expensive and very slow though..

Stormboyz (followed by eveything else in my army in a ten-way tie)

They are the peak of Orkieness for me. They always tend to get into close combat second turn, and i give them a nob with a shoota/skorcha for GEQ killing power. My stormboyz and my warbikes form an unstopable wall of speed and killy.

I've always loved my Shoota Boys, in a Mob of 18-20 with 3 Big Shootas and a Nob with a Powerclaw;

They pump out some serious Dakka that can really put the hurt on Nids, Guard, Eldar, Orks.
They are still a major threat in combat with 2 attacks each and a buried powerfist.
They are fairly cheap at around, 222 Points.
I just like my Orks to be able to out-shoot my opponents just for the look on their face when I do.

When your not just playing against Marines all the time they are a great unit. When your not facing Power Armour, the Choppa from your Sluggas just isn't as important and the extra strength on your guns is often just as much a bonus as the extra attack from your Sluggas, especially if the enemy is coming at you like many Nid armies will.

= Expensive but 45 shotz!

I second that. Although I don't actually own one, I've converted a mega armoured warbosss and man it was fun!
