I'm just curious... a friend(Ork Player) and I were debating this today. He says of course, I say no. Another friend says no with a reason. What do you Ork players say?

I think if the orks really got lucky with trying to deal with it, and they could fit into the seats of the tau and other stuff, they could. I mean if they could operate tanks of the imperium, with enough time, they could get the hang of other things too. Many orks would of course die trying, crashing skimmers into the ground, blowing them selves up, and other what not but thats what orks do. eventually they might be able to grasp the concept, maybe the could pilot a pirhana, since its open topped, but the size of the seats and area to work i dont think is big enough for an ork.

I loot tau crisis suit weapons for my looters. Thats as far as I go( house rules). Skimmers and Orks don't exist in my mind set.

Heh so very true.

A truly determined mek boy will figure it out. Either he'll hit buttons and switches till something happens, or failing that he'll rip out all the buttons and put in all sorts of new ones. Shiny nobs and levers, and even the "Big Red Button" perhaps.

Sure some of those switches might not connect to anything but enough of them will work to get some sort of performance out of the tank. Then it's just a matter of practice.

Also the issue of Tau chairs being to small is easily solved by an Ork. He just rips the chair out and squeezes himself into the space formerly occupied by the chair.

Seat belts, straps and chairs are for weakling 'Umies. An Ork can drive while standing up!

I would be inclined to say no for one sole reason - ever see an Ork loot an Eldar tank, or a Land Speeder, or a Dark Eldar Raider? But I couldn't say no for certain.

The main reason for that is that its very hard to stop them moving without blowing them up.....if we managed to find an uncrewed one, we'd be zoomin' all over the place. Honest, guv. The main reason looted vehicles and equipment is limited to imperial stuff is cuz thats more common, I reckons.

I have. Plus, that's a very weak argument based on what we're already debating - this whole thing could just be turned into "Can't orks loot EVERY vehicle?" The answer of course, is yes. Any and every vehicle, can be used by orks with the right amount of modification, luck, and innate ork psychic abilities.

Skimmer engines don't work? Put propellors on. Track busted? Get 60 gretchen to hold up that side. Gun broken? Put on a bigger gun. Frame blown apart? Put on a roll cage. A combination of previous problems? BATTLEWAGON.

When has that ever stopped an ork? Just slam some choppas into it, make a nice big cockpit.


Im not sure whether orks could use tau tech. It depends on the tech in question. Im sure most of the guns would be pretty straightforward, but much of the skimmers would be pretty hard to master, i imagine. We really dont know how hard tau vehicles are to pilot, but i imagine they'd be very user friendly to go with the tau way of life.

So yeah, im undecided, we dont have enough information for a definate yes or no.
