Default The monolith.

Best tank in the game, but it's sloooww.
Excellent firepower, but it's short ranged.
It can teleport stuff out, but the front needs to be kept clear.
It can deep strike, hmmm.

It has been argued that it is better than a landraider...

Tell me more.

Fire and Move ordance (s9, ap3, range 24"), as tough as it, d6 shots at every model within 12" (s5, ap4). No extra penetration rolls. Deep strike, and pretty much nearly everything (4+ save and up) is dead.

What is the hammerhead doing within 24"?
Rail guns are much longer ranged than the Monoliths weapons.

Yeah, but Monoliths can Deepstrike, and Ordance does much more damage on Vehicles, so it has a much higher change of killing the Hammerhead before it gets a shot off, or even deepstriking behind it.

i feared my friends friends 3 broadsides and 2 hammer heads.

That was until i deepstriked 8 immortals next to one hammerhead and POP there goes one

Then 5 destroyers prevented the other from shooting

Then the heavy destroyers annillated the broadsides (strength 9 ap 2, instant kill not bad hey?)

Then the monolith deep striked the next turn teleporting 20 necron warriors in front of the final hammerhead and pop there goes the final one (immobilised, crash)

One of the big strengths of the moolith, it can "Transport" units that don't start off anywhere near it.

So those are legal tactics. Now for those who want to beat them here's a tip. To stem the flow of warriors coming out, charge them in close combat. I will be messy, but if you block the exit of the monolith with a combat then no more reinforcements can come out. And if you are in CC, the monolith can't target you.
