Default The future of the Necrons?

Anyone that has read the Necron codex closely, (which is probably most on this board) would know that the fluff given is half written and leaves many questions about the Necron's past unanswered. So what I want to know is what people (especially die-hard Necron players) think will happen to the Necrons in the future? Will GW release any new squads etc. when an updated codex arrives? What do you expect the Necrons to do in the future, in terms of massed attacks on systems or campaigns? Will we find out any more about the Necron's dark past and what do you think that will entail?

I think it will probobly end up as all the other codexes will/have(besides SM) with new units maybe some version of necron "traits" (may take the monolith as troops :P). Althought they will probably be one of if not the last codex to be remade as it is fairly new.

Perhaps some new mini-list, like in the Armageddon codex, describing a new form of Necron army, Scarabs as troops, perhaps fixing up pariahs to make sure people buy them...

Game wise they will fix up the existing models maybe bring out some more units.
Campaing? well id loke to see a big campaing revolving around the Imperium attacking the Tombs to try and rid the Galexy of the necrons. That would be cool

I don't really see them expanding much...

It'll just be the same thing over and over again; Necrons are awakening, ancient evil, about to destroy the entire galaxy, blah blah blah. Kind of like Tyranids really... but to be honest, what else can you do with them?=

I'd like to see that kinda campaign as well, not only would it open up the opertunity to release some perviously unencountered squads but it could also give us some answers to the Necron's past and the numerous hooks GW has left, that possibly links Necrons to other races.

Definately, its about time they addressed some issuses with the current codex, all I ask with the pariahs is give them 4-5 initative and an extra attack, thats all. Then maybe GW might think about giving wraiths power weapons that their stats are screaming out for.

I would say that the necrons will make units of each of the different races, replacing the races, and enslaving them to metal prisons to serve the c'tan. They already have humans that have let their essence be consumed and their souls eaten, but their minds put in the bodes of metal monsters. The pariahs are the human aspect. The tau would be kinda intresting. It would be funny to see a tau "necron" and have it be a close combat machine. Or have a tyrinid become a metal dog with a bunch of guns, but then again, they probably wouldn't be able to make tyranids, as they are a hive mind.

MEGA TYRANID HIVE MIND IN METAL!

The necrons wouldn't be able to get chaos either.

So probably models for tau, more humans, kroot, some orks might be stupid enough, and you might get some eldar, but probably not.

If anything the Necrons may get another leadership figure. Perhaps not something as impressive as Lord but a unit that can extend the WBB range or act as a conduit to allow other units to self respair (much like a Tomb Spyder). The Necron Lord could also benefit from an optional retinue taking the form of necron-based Pariahs w/o so many special rules. I forsee the Pariahs getting a major overhaul in any new update or codex they make. They simply need it. Oh and give the Flayed Ones rending! (make em cost maybe 22 points each instead of 18) For goodness sakes, those claws are like 2 feet long!

Necrons don't need another troop choice, when the Necrontyr entered stasis, they weren't worried about customizing the chasis used prior to their long sleep so much as they were saying "let's find a design we can all use and make a "cr#pload of them, real fast!". Throwing in more troop choices would totally ruin the Necron theme and make them no different to armies that require diverse units to be effective.

Think like a Machine, why recreate... when you can upgrade. I'd like to see Necron units be able to take secondary systems and maybe even buy an improved Self Repair system, much like what the Res Orb does. That way you can take certain units (albiet a lot more expensive with this upgrade) and allow them to stray from the main force to do some independent raiding actions and still be somewhat effective against stronger powerweapon/anti-tank units.

This would give Necron players a choice... load up on troops and keep that Phase Out number higher or load up on great wargear and upgrades, but risk phase out with a lower number.

Sounds like the Tyranid Codex doesn't it?

I probably should have said this earlier, but tone out the overkill. For what they are, mass Warrior/Immortal armies are way too powerful...

I like the idea of improved wargear, the Necrons are supposed to be one of the most technologically advanced races in the 40k universe so the idea of improved repair systems sounds good.

ok............................. firstly whats that got to do with this thread and secondly how could GW tone out overkill of that kind, since they cant controll a person's army list above the force organisation chart?
