Default No Pie? (A Monolith Related Question)

During a battle with a 1st company Ultramarines army the other day my friend was flipping through my Necron codex while Marenus Calgar wiped the floor with half my army (which stubbornly refused to fall back despite their obvious impending doom!) and he pointed out to me that the Particle Whip's profile listed its type as "Ordinance, Blast". Notice the lack of the word "Large" in there?

Now the question is: does a Monolith's Particle Whip use the large blast template? I know our codex is a relic from the past, so could it just be that weapon types (namely ordinance and large blast weapons) change wording between editions?

Thanks in advance
~Zenith

Unless their profile specifies otherwise, all ordnance blast weapons use the large blast marker.
Pretty much covers it in my opinion; it's a large blast marker (i.e. 5", as specified on page 30) as it is Ordnance, blast, and does not specify otherwise.

Yeah, it's definitely a large blast. The necron dex doesn't specify because it's a 3rd edition thing, the leman russ entries don't specify "large" either, because it was implied by being ordnance. They've just removed the ambiguity in later editions.

it's an ordenance weapon, so it ALWAYS uses the ORDENANCE BLAST template

Excellent, that puts my fears to rest. My Necrons sure like their pie.
