Default Deep Striking Monolith

OK I looked all the way back through 10 pages, and did not see this topic.

If someone deep strikes the Monolith, which weapons are allowed to be fired?

Can the Particle Whip be fired?

How about the Defensive weapons?

The reason I ask is because it monolith is not a fast vehicle, and has moved more than 6" from Deep Striking. Also Speeders that deep strike are not allowed to fire any weapons and they are a fast vehicle.

You can't fire both. Particle whip's ordnance.

Ok but are you saying it can deep strike (move over 6") and still fire some weapon?

It can fire either weapon, or fire the flux arcs and use the power matrix to bring a squad of necron warriors into play from reserve or teleport a squad. However, it cannot fire both weapons because one of them is ordinance.

OK I understand that with normal moving but Deep striking is not normal moving. Where in the rules/codex/FAQ does it say it can deep strike and fire everything?

No one is saying it can fire everything, or at least I hope they aren't.

In the Space Marine FAQ it's revealed that Landspeeders which Deep Strike count as moving >12". Presumably this applies to the Lith as well.

If your group follows this line of reasoning, then its like this.

The Lith is a skimmer which has moved > 12", and consequently can't fire its conventional weaponry (flux arc) and cannot be penetrated. The Energy Matrix rule permits it to still use the portal/Pwhip despite the fact that it moved (Energy Matrix rule in rulebook, + FAQ covering Liths Deep striking and portaling warriors from reserve in same round)

If your group rejects this line of reasoning then the LIth is just operating as normal.

It may be penetrated, and may choose between fluxing/portaling, or shooting its Pwhip.

OK thanks 40K

I will take that to the club. Luckily we only have one Necron player and he splits his time between Necrons and Marines.
