Here’s the thing a friend of mine is new to the world of 40k and isn’t very good at making lists (he gets blinded my all the nice flashy toys) and as of this time he has played 5 games and been beaten in all of them the worst been the last game (bunker assault) he was the defender and had 3 bunkers
1 manned by a nightbringer (I tolled him not to)
1 manned by a lord with res orb, destroyer body and 11 warriors
And the last had 10 warriors and due to the bringer and other expensive stuff I made him phase out by the time I had finished my turn*


I tolled him to have 1 lord (maybe 2) with vial of darkness phase shift and war scythe in a unit of Pariahs or a large unit of warriors and vial and try to survive or vial and bang

Now I play Eldar so I don’t have much knowledge of the crons I have the book and have played VS them 9 times
I don’t see the point of the res orb strength 8 weapons are rear and power weapons are also rear in my gaming group there are 2, 1 in my army on my scorpion and 1 in the SM army

But now I should get to the point what makes a good Necron list

Can you help my friend make a good 1000 and 1500 list

so he plays verses smufs and eldar eh??
ok the minimum he should get is

2 lords on foot
30 warriors
2-3 heavy destroyers
5-6 destroyers
8-10 scarabs
then for extra stuff he should get 7-8 immortals, at least 3(if not 6) wraiths, a tomb spyder or so.

against smurfs=heavy d's lots of warriors with wraiths to take out scouts/devastators/annoying units scarabs popping tanks
eldar= lots of warriors with heavy d's if a wraithlord destroyers to pop the annoying skimmers
