Basically I came upon a bargain and ended up with some necron models. Thing is... what list would you do with this models, and how would you play with it? I'm mostly a Tau and Tyranid player and this is what I got...
30 warriors 3 destroyers 4 swarms 1 lord I also got 18 Tomb King skeletons in the deal if you manage to squeeze them in the list somehow O0 |

well the destroyers will come in handy but i would get a few more (6 total or so)
i dont know what the tomb king models look like but you can convert them either into immortals/warriors get more scarabs 8-10 and definately get some heavy destroyers as these are your only ap 2 weapon (except the monolith)

Model the skellies onto your bases. Have the sacarabs swarming over them.

Heavy destroyers might be a good idea with the new nids about to gain popularity, but against nids, best thing you can do is use basic troopers both to absorb their attacks and to dish out the firepower.Against Tau, Destroyers rock.

The ideal would be template weapons, but I'm afraid Necron are lacking in that field (though I haven't checked out the monolith rules that thouroughly). Lacking that and from what I've seen, the warrior march seems a good solid bet. BTW, what do you think of an army built around and played on leadership based atacks (like the slaneesh cult of pleasure list)? it would be something like using the Deceiver as fire-bait with a kill-zone of warriors. The deciever would atract assaults, and then would evade CC leaving the units exposed to the warriors fire. Plus it would have leadership based efects, combining the deceivers skills on that, with the Pariahs and the Flayed ones. I don't have any pratical experience with this, and these are just some ideas after some codex reading and brainstorming. I dunno the viability of this especially in front of armies that bypass leadership tests entirely. And a bit off topic now. Gotta love that avatar of yours, it reminds me of that Discworld novel by Terry Prachet when death gets existencial problems and finds solace in the "Music that Rocks" ;D |

The image is taken from the art of Paul Kidby, and is in fact inspired by Soul Music.
And now back on topic. Here's a point for you: C'tan do not attract assaults, it just doesn't happen any more than clouds attract rocks. I mean it's got toughness 8 and ignores any save you have, would you attack it? |

Tyranids do!* Orks do sometimes...
Also, they are very useful to stick in the front of your army in the event there is a Khorne army =)

Well.. some armies really don't have a choice on the subject (Khorne, Blood angels and off-shots), and to others that's the only option available (nids, orks).
Plus not all people are clinical about it. In order to win a misson, you must acomplish the objectives which doesn't necessarily mean destroying every enemy model. You'd be surprised at the quantity of people who forget that in the heat of battle, specially when a nice shiny point bucket is in front of them ^_^ I know that in a 1k fantasy game, I tied up 4 enemy units with my saurus general running circles around them while my other units went about acomplishing objectives unmolested. Then again counting in you oponents eagerness (which is not to say stupidity) isn't a sound battle tactic

1st off Convert those skelies into necrons rip off all weapons they have keep the arms intact tho paint em silver to match your crons and they can make good warriors.

Pity about the lack of guns.If you have access to Green stuff, then you could make blades out of sprue, drape them in sheets of green stuff and make your own flayed ones. The only problem is that the heads don't lookk quite right...
