Okay im doing a slight modification (all hush hush) and im wndering if anyone knows were or what I can use as different colour rods (mainly blue but any colours good)

Depends on the paint scheme really. Some colors look better with others, some dont

Most decent hobby stores (note: hobby, not gaming) should have rods of translucent plastic rods. I'm actually doing something like that (except with red... white marble Necrons with red rods and eyes).

Here is a site I found that has the rods. Look for the flourescent round rods. I saw blue and red, so there may be a purple. I dunno the measurements on the rods, though. Does anyone here know the thickness?

Hmm well I dunno but you might be able to use lego plastic rods they might be the right size with some trimming they come in a number of colors and you could probably order them but hobby shops or possibly craft stores might have something.

Plastruct makes plastic rods of the correct diameter, and you can order online. I believe it's www.plastruct.com.
