Default "From the ground they arise without warning"

I came up with this list after being shot to hell and back before I got close to the enemy every. Single. Time.

Basically the idea is too have everything arrive via deepstrike. I am aware the opponent gets 2 free turns, but I can "deploy" anywhere on the board. I can easily counter the enemy when he has no idea where I'm going. The warriors are coming in through the monolith, Flayed ones deepstrike, and the destroyers and heavies have both excellent range and speed, and will be coming in from the board edge.

Hate to burst your bubble but in the codex entry doesn't it say you must have 1 (or 2 can't remember) units of warriors at the table to begin with?

The wording may be a tad iffy but it seems to heavily imply that is the case for deployment as only 'excess warrior units' can go in reserve.

Does it say that? I'll have to go check, but I haven't played my necrons in quite some time. I'll update this list when I figure out something that will work :P

Edit: I can always "walk on" from the board edge then teleport through the portal. As long as the monolith aren't past the halfway point on the board, they should be good.

The way I've always had to play it is that you have an HQ and two warrior squads on the board at the start regardless although deepstriking is effective you must have a minimum unit count on the board otherwise phaseout technically occurs automatically and you'd lose before the game begun.

The monolith costs 235 and there is only one codex ever for the Necrons since they began in the 3rd Edition
