Default passing the torch

i was recently pleasantly suprised by a couple new bands who have not sold into the mainstream US music market spam.

tired i am of the nickleback, linkin park, disturbed etc... clones. i never considered the post grunge rock to be good to begin with, nor thier spawn.....that being said i am quite pleased with

airbourne-
an australian band that studied at the AC/DC school of rock and are a fine successor to the throne of angus >

black tide-
these guys are young, 15-18 but thier influences are top rate(read the singers band list) and they are keeping with the tradition and style of great thrash metal bands. be sure to give shockwave a listen.

What about Warbringer? I saw them last year in Feb, then right before xmas, and apparentlly they just released their first album of Century. Then theres avenger of blood, saw them mid last year, though their vegas based and then this iltalian power metal band Arthemis. All golden.

I like that Airbourne, nice old-school sound.

Black Tide doesn't sound too bad, I was surprised when he started singing...wasn't expecting that. I was thinking I'd get to hear more "RAH RAH RAH" that I'm sick and tired of.

Airbourne sounds too much like AC/DC... but it's not a bad thing, it's always good to hear a "real rock" band. I haven't seen serious rock bands in the last years. Good band ;D

Warbringer is pretty good. They went to my school 8).
John Laux (one of the guitarists) was in some of my classes. He's... interesting.
But I like him.

I only talked to the singer. I didn't know he was accually in the band though, just some random guy, lol. But Airborne... By god, they do sound just like AC/DC. Black tide didn't really impress me that much though. Theyreminded me of someone but it wasn't really something I would pay for :/. There are also, Devistator. Then, Nuclear holocust, bonded by blood, inner demon and a lot of bands in the L.A. thrash scene, which I am trajectly not involved in anymore.
