Default Chuck's anniversary

Today is the anniversary of the death of the great Chuck Schuldiner (may 13, 1967 - december 13, 2001). He's been one of the greatest artist in the history of music.

Only one reply... ok, I see that nobody here knows a band called "Death". Guys, you pretend to be great metal fans, you all brag about your music knowledge and things like that, but it seems that you don't know a band that has wirtten the history of music. It's like someone claims he's a surgeon, but he doesn't know what a heart or a liver is. I can't consider this board as a serious "music forum" anymore.

Death never did that much for me. I understand their influence on bands that came after, but overall I didn't find their music all that appealing.

Anyway, why does chuck need special mention in the forum? Have there been other threads for the anniversaries of the deaths of others? Like, say, Bon Scott, John Bonham, Cliff Burton, or Randy Rhoads?

Chuck pretty much help shape and form the Florida and American death metal scenes by him self, I am pretty sure all the other artists you mentioned didn't help or do much to create a genre from the ground up.

Now granted Chuck was not the sole person to create the genre of death metal, but with the help of Slayer, Possessed, and other extreme thrash acts of the early 80's,he helped forge the way for the death metal scene of the late 80's and early to mid 90's. His influence on the metal world should be recognized.

The same goes for the late Quorthon from Bathory who helped pioneer not only one genre of music but two in his lifetime.

If you think that they do need special mention, then make threads about their deaths.

A little late, but yes.
