At least you play yours. I have one that I never use that's collecting dust, that no one will buy from me.

That's all right, I played Trumpet and Guitar for four years and never really learned how to read music.

I've been playing guitar for 3 years without a single lesson, and I'm pretty sick (if I do say so myself)... just ask Mothman...

You will get better if you know what you are doing, I suggest you take lessons. But not being able to read sheet music doesn't make you good or bad.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Its really common for musicians not to be able to read music.

But it does help a lot to be able to and i believe the best session musicians have to be able to read music. because you won't just be handed a sheet of tab every time. in fact 99.9% of the time you won't be given tab

I've been playing for 5 years and I don't read sheet music, I can read tabs and I can read sheet music for singing, but you really don't need it, music theory and knowing sheet music and all that whatnot can help you write but I'm sure there are a good chunk of successful musicians who can't read sheet music.

im a bit more confident.....although i still like the talent of being able to decipher a song in around five to ten minutes....
heck my guitar teachers been playing for more than twelve years and he still cant read music (but god he's got sweet guitars, i favour a nice burgandy of his)
and while im on the subject what models do the guitarists have?
