Default Splinter Rifle, WTF

What is the splinter rifle in the kroot merc list? is it the kroot rifle or the kroot hunting rifle or something else? This all came about from trying to see if you can equip you master shaper with a kroot hunting rifle.

Pretty sure that it's the same Splinter Rifle that the Dark Eldar use. To answer your question more completely, the Splinter Rifle uses electro-magnetic fields to accelerate tiny shards (or splinters) of an ammunition crystal to insane speeds. The ammunition crystal (like most Dark Eldar things) usually comes laced with various poison and what-have-you. Odds are that the Kroot would enjoy using that because like their rifles, the Splinter Rifle usually features a big old blade on the front.

Hope that helps,

Hang on, that doesn't seem right...if Dark Eldar weaponry is all covered in 'orrible poisons and neurotoxins and such, surely it wouldn't be very safe for the Kroot to eat someone who's been hit by it? Surely they'd just get poisoned as well? Unless you know something about Dak Eldar weaponry and/or the Kroot digestive system that I don't, Kroot and splinter weaponry surely shouldn't mix.

Kroot can get their digestice systems to hunt and destroy yee viruses and stuff, so probably not to bad, besides, just dont eat the ones who have been hit.

The Strange Child is probably right. After millennia upon millennia of eating pretty much everything they kill, the Kroot are probably more than capable of handling a few highly potent neurotoxins with little more than maybe an upset tummy... or gizzard... whatever Kroot have.

Also note that Kroot using gain the same benifit as having a kroot rifle does....

And just because the DE use poisons, doesn't mean the kroot ones do.

And their are Kroot who have adapted to use poison - Headhunters IIRC.

And finally, the DE toxins are usually non-lethal, just very painful to cause suffering (fear, anger, the dark side I sense :P) whilst leaving the victim available to be taken back to Commorgh.
