Default Might Start Harlequins/Eldar

I'm considering starting a Harlequin army (They are freaking amazing models). But I have a few question:
1) Are they in the New Codex: Eldar?
2) Can I combine regular eldar with Harlequins? Such as A Wraithlord or Striking Scorpions and a troupe?
3) What do they count as? I assume regular Harlequins are troops. Are the Death Jester, Shadowseer and Troupe Leader HQs, or are they just minor leaders in the squad (Like exarchs?)

Also, please tell me if I have anything wrong. I have never played as Eldar, so I might be completely wrong. I just need you guys to help me before I go buy a codex for an army I don't want. So what are some pros and cons of Harlequins (and Eldar), and what are their fighting styles?

Thanks A bunch!

basically, in the new codex you get generic boring miscellaneous harlequin squads as an elites choice...

No. 90% of the rules you need (if not 100%) are available free to read / download via the sticky at the top of this board.

Yes and no.

Harlequins can be taken as Allies by Eldar, but given that there is an alternative (read: Inferior) Harlequin Entry now in the Codex, it's questionable as to whether people will let you.

In the stand alone army, you have the following:

HQ: Great Harlequin, Shadowseer.
ELITES: Solitaire, Death Jesters.
TROOPS: Harlequins.
FAST ATTACK: Harlequin Jetbikes.
HEAVY SUPPORT: Venom.

If you use the Eldar Online Codex (which is more balanced, as you can actually take on Marines in combat and hope to survive...), then this is changed a bit.

Harlequins are a combat army. They are near-totally dedicated to assault, and what firepower they have is more for a support and suppress role; no Harlequin player ever won by shooting.

The army is fast, hits hard, and can do insane amounts of damage. However, Harlequins can't take damage the way their Grey Knight counterparts can, so expect losses.

Harlequins are not an easy army to play with; even using the "beefed up" Eldar Online version, you can expect things to turn very ugly very fast, and one good enemy shooting phase will leave your army in ruins.

Definately not an army for beginners, or even amateurs. You want to be fairly well-rounded before looking into these guys.

Far to true for my liking.

But, if you follow Wargamers advice, you should manage.
