Default New Vespid unit, also codex Vespid up for constructive criticism agian.

This is the codex, I have changed it a bit. Feel free to provide constructive criticism.

The Sky whale has been added, not for any actual stategic benefit but just as a nice touch to add the sky whales I mention in the codex into your games.

Type: skimmer, fast, open topped

Transport: Any Vespid unit may select a sky whale as a transport option, if so the sky whale and the unit take up one force organisation slot, a sky whale can transport up to 10 guardians, storm claws, stingwings, worker drones, wind claws or thunder wings. Princes and QUeens count as two models.

A sky whale is meant to be used to shield units from a bit of fire and speed them up a bit, however as said above it is mainly here as a nice touch.

sorry my firewall blocked the reply function for a bit but no, there are no models for any Codex vespid units as of yet.

Hey for the Vespid codex I think that all of them having WS4 is a little unbalanced for a non combat army. Maybe WS 3 for the worker drones. Also the Worker drones need to be cheaper like say 8 points a model. For ten points you get a model that always strikes last and dies if you give it a mean look. And you need to clarify that the Wind Claws are swarms. Also make the Whale an even 60. Also keep tank's points cost ending in 0 or 5 to keep it all pretty. Troops don't fall under this rule to much so their prices are OK.

Whale has been changed, your comments have been added and next draft will include the changes. I should drop the worker drone to WS3 and 8 points or 8 points for the current profile.

Hey about the Vespid codex (which I am happy that it exsists BTW) I like how the mining tank has the 14 front armour and 12 for the sides and 9 for the rear. It gives the tank a fluffier feel to it as the explosions in mining would require a tougher front. The Old ones should be 145 and the tank should be 130. Lower the front armour on the Strafers and cut their cost by alot. Make the strafers have say 12, 11, 11 armour and be about 140 or so. For 185 is alot for that thing. Otherwise very nice.

for modeling ideas you might want to consider Gears of War for the look (locusts seem kind of like Vespids)

taken into acount for next draft, should be up soon. probably after next majorish (like your post) idea for change. Last time most of the constructive criticism was about fluff but I'm glad that seems to be OK now.

Oh yeah some of the fluff is repeated twice in some sections. And some like the Hive with a King and princesses was put in randomly personally. Side note I like the use of giant floating tanks/creatures with guns strapped on them. Gives the Vespid a nice feel. You might want to add some war gear for both troops and tanks. You might want to add with the vehicles that when a vehicle destroyed result is rolled the gas filled creatures explode. And Vehicle annihilated gets and extra 6" to the range of explosion or something like that.

As you mention wargear I don't know what to do for that, I have guns and grenade options for HQ choices but what else should I have.

The reason I mention that some of the creatures have explosive gasses in them is to explain vehicle explodes/annhilitated results and why it explodes.

Fluff is repeated as I didn't want to have to type more stuff up, it only took me about three weeks at most to do it. I might rewrite it a bit now I have a little more time and am not racing to get something up.
