Default Slann Question?

Hey
In the LatD topic at the top it has a thing on Slann. Were these like an Epic army or a Rogue Trader or what? Also in the Creature Feature section of the Australian GW site on the Razorback Hound it has something on them...

They are mentioned in the 4th ed book as being the some Incan name type, that use flechette guns i think.

would be awesome to see a Slann army along the lines of the the Lizardmen in Fantasy.

Very workable concept that would adapt exceedingly well to the setting.

May be seen as a cheesy fantasy to 40k adaptation but it would work.

The Slann appeared in rogue trader as an army of frog-people.

Thank god they're gone.

The Slann are the degenerate decendents of the Old Ones, who were chased out of the Galaxy and massacred by the C'tan and Necrons.

The ones mentioned in the 4th Ed Codex are Anxloxtl, a generic Xenos used as Fluff. The Picture is a Slanni.

Interestingly enough, there's a scenario in the Necron Codex which suggests converting Lizardmen figs into 40K to represent the lost children of the Old Ones...

(Which would be really interesting in Epic - 10mm-scale lizzies alongside 6mm Eldar!)

I'd bet that the Old Ones were once like the Slann (the Slann Mage Priests in current Warhammer Fantasy, that is) and evolved into part-material beings, part warp-entities (kinda like the Vorlons in Babylon 5 - the Darkness and Light RPG sourcebook is very interesting in this regard) but the actual Slann were used as intermediaries between the Old Ones proper and the other 'children', as the Shadows used the Drakh as their voice and their hand on dozens of worlds in the B5 universe.
