Default How to do an Adeptus mechanicus army?

I looked at the links in this part of the forum that showed the codex for an "adeptus mechanicus" army. The first one wasn´t working so I looked at the second one and was dissapointed in it to say the least. After looking around on the internet I stumbled upon a link to the official GW site. There they demonstrated how one could use the Imperial guard codex to create an army of adeptus mechanicus using various doctrines.

So my question to you guys is; when making an adeptus mechanicus army should you use the imp codex with doctrines or is there any good unoffical one?

Here is a link to the GW site I was refferring to:

Does anybody here have or use an Ad.Mech army? Does the GW one come close enough to the actual Ad.Mech?

I dont know of any unofficial adept codexes, but dont use the doctrines yet wait for wargamer to tell you which ones if any to use.

"Hey, man, I'm a PANDA!" the panda shouts back. "Look it up!"

The manager opens his dictionary and reads:

Panda: A tree-dwelling marsupial of Asian origin, characterized by distinct black and white coloring. Eats, shoots and leaves.

i think the one listed is fair enough, although i may swap out carapace for something individual.

I wouldnt ask wargamer to give doctrines, hes generally dead set against them, id just go with it until you find one

I saw an Ad Mech themed SM army once. It had the (obvious) techmarines, and the troops were all Terminators, converted to look like Servitor-terminator-bionic-things. Also it has awesome robotic-like land raiders. I liked that one.

Iron Hands cam be a pretty techy army to play too. Not sure if they could really be called an ad. mech army though.

Those doctrines look pretty cool and seem to represent an army that has higher technological resources than most. On top of that it would simply be your build. Perhaps more plasma and power weaponry spread through the army than normal as especially plasma seems to be a weapon that is rather difficult to come by throughout the Imperium if Im getting my fluff right.

How about you use the space marine codex instead?

Scouts would make great skirati with a bit of converting with the new vostroyan range

A few months ago there was White Dwarf with an Admech army in it. They used the Lost and the Damned army list. Mutants were servitors, Skitari were traitors.

Obliterators were pratorians, a Chaos lord was a Magus and Aspiring Champions were Tech priests.

It was really cool.
