I have been playing fantasy for a while as a Lizardmen player. I have pretty much all the models i'd ever want in that army and am kind of tired of fantasy so I decided to pick up 40K and the Tau. My little brothers (well not really little 15, 18, and 22) Are all getting into 40K as well with Chaos space marines, Eldar, and Space wolves. I'll be around.

Welcome to TO. Make sure to read The Rules and spell correctly and use correct grammar. It helps people understand things better.
![]() *edit* The spell checker says everything is fine! ???

Well, I was a copywriter so feel free to flame me if I don't use AP style grammar. Currently I am a kindergarten teacher, and along with nerding out playing Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy I also play soccer, ultimate frisbee and practice Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for paint schemes for a Tau army, but I suppose that is a question for a different part of the forum so I will ask it there as well.

Welcome aboard Tau toddler! Be sure to read the Forum Rules as well as the Posting Guidelines and enjoy your stay!
Fantasy into 40k is pretty common, but fear not. Aside from Tau, your Lizardmen have life in them yet, but I will touch on that in a moment. If you're new to the Tau, there's a treasure trove of information awaiting you in the heart of the TauOnline boards within the "Important Topics" sticky which should give you enough reading material for a couple of long nights. However, should you have any questions at all, ask away! As for Tau painting schemes, there are many helpful resources here at TauOnline, but I can also point you in a few other directions, such as this handy little Color Scheme Generator (which currently functions with a model for Fire Warriors, Eldar and a Space Marine). Otherwise, Coolminiornot.com has thousands of examples of Tau via photograph for you to ogle over. And now we return to the Lizardmen. Should you ever feel like using all of your Lizardmen in a 40k game, it is very possible and a blast, if you fielded them as a Lost and the Damned army from Codex: Eye of Terror. The Lost and the Damned have rules that are totally configurable to your liking, and there are no official models for most of the units and it is highly suggested that players use their creative sides to make a unique army. Another good aspect is simply that you can use the rules of the Damned to adopt almost any fantasy force into the 40k universe, simply under a different manner of names. It may not function the same as Lizardmen do, however, it does allow you to play around in 40k with your current models which are already painted and ready to go. The problem lies in that you may become addicted to the powers of Chaos which may stray you away from the Tau, so a word of caution! Cheers! And again, welcome aboard ![]() -MalVeauX
