Default THE DREADED INTRODUCTION

Well here goes,
I'm 28 and have been in the RAF REGIMENT for 11 and half years served in Kosovo in 99, Northern Ireland for 4 and a half and Afghanistan in 04/05, i am now an instructor on Field Gunners at the RAF REGIMENT DEPOT which keeps me busy !
I love Rock(AC/DC Guns 'n' Roses, Black Sabbath anything pre 80's),Old Blues( I am teaching myself how to play the harmonica and it is hard nails), I play guitar too( i now have six, my pride and joy being my 1969 Gibson Les Paul), i go snowboarding with my best mate nick every year to wherever we can get to!
I started 40k a year and a half ago after i was in my mates (TAFF thanks mate!) room who was just starting to build and paint a brand new battle force of Crimson Fists. He had just got back into the game after 10 years. Initially after looking at some of his "how to paint space marines" book i thought it would help me to better my military modelling/painting, which i was ok at but was using the old humbrol enamels(ARRGH! Nightmare).

So i bought myself a box of tactical space marines and decided on the Black Templars chapter but not knowing what the hell i was doing i had to read some books so that i didn't have models that were totally outrageous (after a few weeks i thought id give the game a go too!) and that got me into the whole thing on a scale which has now engulfed every other hobby i do.

And so it
begins............................................ .................................................. .At the moment i have roughly 3500/4500pts of Templars (built and unbuilt)
Ill add some pics in a moment.

So there i am with some detailed models or so i thought ,,,, then i found "cool mini or not" and my heart just sank!!!
But i did get a whole load of great tips and tricks on a whole load of stuff too many to mention but i would recommend their article page!

But i got painters block and decided to try something that wasn't black white and red!!!

Well the "The Greater Good" won me over and now i find myself here!
I will stop waffling on and show you what i have got so far .

I have probably done this all wrong but i'm sure the friendly moderators will tell me the error of my ways.

Till next time,

Per Ardua

I have only been doing Tau for 2 months and most of that has been on research

Even thought we've been in chat for the last hour, I feel obligated to post here, too. =-P

Welcome to TO, Bearry. Awesome painting. I especially like what you've done on the Tau backpacks. I'm looking forward to watching your Tau grow and hopefully seeing some more of your Templars.

See you on the boards,

-Grandpa Ducky

Welcome to Tau Online!

I wanted to be a pilot in the RAF but my eyesight means there's practically no chance of that unfortunatey. Closest I've got is gliders hah.

Some really nice models there too. Those Firewarriors are especially good, the textures look great and the colour scheme is nice.

Any questions about 40k/the site just PM me, see on on the boards.

Anyway......

DUDE. YOU. ARE. ****ING. AWESOME. I. FEEL. LIKE. YOU. ARE. MY. NEW. MASTER.

Nah, just joking. I already swore my loyalty and soul to someone else :shifty:

Things to do:
1. Read the rules
2. Use of proper grammar and spelling; use the spell checker
3. No spamming unless it's here
4. Be polite; don't flame people.
5. Don't resurrect old topics; necromancy is heresy of the highest level here in TO
6. Don't double post; use the 'Modify Message' button to edit your post

Hope you enjoy your stay in Tau Online. Please refrain from using your military skills against the civilians in TO :P
