[Cheese Elemental]

Hey everyone, I'm Cheese Elemental (dubbed that after trying to use a fake World of Warcraft card in a game, the Cheese Elemental), and I'm relatively new to 40K. I got into it while playing the PC 40K strategy game Dawn of War. I heard about the tabletop game while playing online, and I went down to the Games Workshop store. After arguing with a member of staff about the exorbiant price on the rulebook ($85 here in Australia), I forked over the cash and my tabletop gaming life started. That was last September, and now I'm fairly into my Chaos army, with a good knowledge of the game universe and rules, but not very far with painting my models. I can't decide on a colour scheme, but I'm going for something complicated, Hakanor's Reavers, who have a lava-crack effect on their armour.
Hoping to get into gaming soon, and I'll be active on these forums most days.

Welcome on board. As CS said, you've just missed the April prank, which usually has the forum falling apart with some mod on mod action. Was pretty good this year, nearly had people convinced

The armour sounds cool with the lava, would be nice to see them over in showcase (hint )

Do you prefer the tabletop to the dawn of war gameplay then?

We all hate the price of the models, but the best way is to only buy a little, paint it, then buy some more, I've found. That way you get it all done, and don't break the bank every month!

Hi and welcome to Tau Online.

You'll be surprise how many people got into the tabletop after Dawn of War game. For it was like: Dawn of War > Wikipedia > Novels > Tabletop.

Nearly? We did have a fair few convinced for a while... There's proof in the Enclave in fact.
