Default I'm New Here

Hi everyone, I have been to this forum a few times and have found alot of useful info. I decided to join since my bf is getting into 40k, I said I would try it too. I really like the tau and have played the dark crusade game to get an vague idea of each race. Anyway, I have yet to invest any real money into the game yet and am trying to get an idea of how the table top version plays. I have read through the basic rules once, and the current tau empire book thing.

Well the best way to get an idea of how 40k plays is to actually play a game. See if your local Games Workshop can lend you some Tau models (they usually can, especially if it's likely you'll go and buy some later).
