Default Went to the other extreme

I've played 40k for 6 years, and all of it as a fervent follower of Khorne. I have about 3500 points of this and an army whittled down through the years of combat to tackle just about anyone who steps up.
Recently (after the release of the Empire codex update for the Tau), I decided to try them out since they were the most extreme reverse of my pure assualt army. To do this, I'm limiting myself from being able to take Kroot or Vespid Stingwings. Pretty much any and all decent melee fighters. That, and the models just look cool as hell.
Thats about it.

Welcome to TO! I see another has conformed to the Greater good. good, yes very good. But dont limit your kroot and vespids. This can be done, but some people love playing with them. Trust me, you'll feel a difference in game play even if you use two units of kroot. Not only do kroot have a weaker toughness than korn, they literally have close to no save, and work very differently. I personally use kroot, but I know others who dont use any at all. Its totally up to you. I think though, for starting out, you should have some kroot atleast. I have one unit of 12, with shaper and two kroot hounds, and that works pretty well with me to tie up units and protect flanks.

Actually, Kroot are just as good as marines at shooting, plus hiding them in cover improves survivability alot.

And dont they move through terrain better? You can use them to assault an enemy in foilage pretty well it seems.

I understand how the Tau and their allies work, I'm choosing not to field them because I have an entire army geared for close combat and I feel I've mastered it pretty well. It's a personal challenge thing.

Ironic, considering his nose bleeds all the time.
