Default Introducing Me

Just wanted to say and introduce myself. So... uhm... Hi. Handle is Talanis. I collect Tau, which is largely why I am here in the first place. I like to read battle reports (for the most part. Some are just icky.), write fluff (lots of it. I'm a bit of a fanatic) and write stories. Short, long, novella, it's all good. Currently working on my second 40k short story. I'll post em when i get a chance, let you all have a glimpse at 'em, so long as I get some feedback.

My army is currently in the 'painting/building/collecting' phase, though - as I understand it - one never really moves out of that phase. I only just started into minatures about last year some time, and only just got into 40k in novemeber of 2004. So i'm a newb, plain and simple. I also enjoy reading and writing fluff far more than I do painting, so although I've had a number of models for a couple months now, they're all sitting about with only half primed. They're all built though, so I guess i'm not entirely lazy ;D

As for what else I do, I read and write. I write my own stories and am currently working on a novel of mine. Hopefully I get it done sometime. A buddy of mine has threatened to kill me if I don't, so it is very important I get it done. Which reminds me. Never let someone see your unfinished work, in anything. Cause it means you _have_ to do it, then. No giving up part-way. Other than reading/writing I like to play computer games. I'm big into RTS but dabble in FPS games here and there as well. I get worked alot in FPS though, so I don't tend to play em on the net much. Hmmm... what else... My style of music is somewhat varied. I'm a bit of a techno fiend and listen to all sorts of styles within the genre, but I also love the 'big-hair rock'. At the moment i'm real into AC/DC, which I can't figure out. I never liked em before but now all of a sudden half my playlist is them. It is most perplexing...

Anyway, enough babbling. You have things to do, I have people to see and my cat has begun to annoy me for food. See ya on the boards.

In that case, so is sex. Therefore, pornstars and prostitutes are professional athletes.

Hmmm.. fluff-nut.... I like the sounds of that... yes...

I'll be sure and exhaust the fluff section. There's already a few stories in there that have caught my eye. Thanks for the welcome wagon. Always good to know people actually don't mind you hanging about

See ya on the boards.

Welcome to Tau Online.
Sounds like you'll fit right in here! You've told us about your story too now so you have to finish it even more urgently.
It's worth submitting some of your fluff to the website, or maybe entering a writing competition at some point.
See you on the boards!

Well... my 'story' I was talking about there is actually a novel and it has nothign to do with warhammer. At the moment I'm only about a quarter of the way through the first chapter and it's already at about 25 pages, single space, font 12 Times New Roman. At least I *think* it's a quarter of the way through. it's hard to be sure. At any rate, it's going to be a full length novel, so I doubt I'll be posting on a forum. Maybe, but more than likely no.

As for my warhammer stories, you can be sure I'll post em here. I'll never get any better - at any story-making - if I don't get feed back. As for the competitions, when I find one I'll see if I can't bang out a story for it. I don't like working with deadlines. They make me actually work hard ;D

I was writing a story....then my inspiration died.....I relied entirely on having someone sitting my behind me giggling occasionally, so I knew what worked.
