Hi all!

I'm CmdrBonesaw (aka BossBonesaw, in my Ork incarnation), and I'm one of the Moderators of the Tau Board.

I'm from Austria, in the second half of my twenties, and I have a degree in law (so excuse my rules lawyering - it's what I actually get paid for ).

I've been playing WH40K and WHFB as well as various Specialist Games (Gorkamorka, Mordheim, Epic) for nearly a decade now (since 4th Edition WHFB and 2nd Edition 40K, to give you some pointers). My first love in WHFB were the Dwarfs, and I'm still true to them. In 40K, I've found my true calling after some searching (Imperial Guard, Space Wolves) in the Greater Good, and I'm an avid Tau player since they were first released back in 3rd Edition. I have also built up a sizeable Ork army which has crossed the 2.000 pts barrier some time ago, and there is still no end to the green wave.

Apart from 40K, my hobbies include DnD (3rd Edition), bad movies, hiking, cycling and reading.

Heya everyone,

I'm Grandpa Ducky and one of the moderators for our Ork board. I hail from Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - just west of Milwaukee. I'm twenty years old as of posting this and enjoy reading, paintballing, video gaming, ducks, and (of course) 40k.

I've been playing 40k for five or six years now (since the end of Third). I'm a die hard Ork fanatic and every attempt at me starting a new army has ended in my Orks consuming them in their endless drive for fun looking bitz - or so was the fate of my Space Marine, Traitor Guard, and WHFD Orc army. :P

My current projects for my Boyz are constructing the first three Krumpanies of the Ork Angels, my parody of the Space Marine's Dark Angels. Other projects include my Arm'ad Krumpany, Freebootaz, and various other Ork armies that can be found in my Project Log blog here.

When I'm not working on my Orks, I also enjoy games of Necromunda and have Orlock and Redemptionist gangs, with the start of a Arbite force, too. I've also dabbled in Inquisitor, and more lately, Dark Heresy.

See you all on the boards,

-Grandpa Ducky

Hello everyone,

I'm Wingates_Hellsing, a moderator for the Craftworld Eldar board.
I live in northern VA, and, for lack of a better term, am a film student under the age of 20.

I've never really counted how many years I've played 40K, at least five years I'd think. I am still a devoted Eldar player despite a little bit of Orky experimentation. I haven't played too many games lately, but TO is still a fun place to hang out.

When I'm not here, I'm either messing about with any number of media programs, playing some strategy or FPS games (anyone for Supreme Commander or Rainbow Six?), or slinging plastic at one of the local Airsoft fields.

Mad props from the 'hood,
I bet I have more hobbies than you do.

'lo folks, I'm Dra'Tuisich-Novae (known to most people in real life as Ed).

I run TO's competitions, so feel free to ask me any questions you have about our monthly contests, or the system as a whole.

In terms of 40k, I'm [very] slowly building Eldar, Ork, and Space Marine armies - though I'm liable to build lists for almost any army, and I've got a working knowledge of most of the Specialist Games systems.

Outside of the interwebs, I'm studying biology at UOIT (near Toronto, Canada). Feel free to ask me anything about university, biology, or this school in particular if you live in the area.

Hey tauonliners,

Im waargh, local inanimate chunk of refined mod ore. Currently gathering dust in the hobby boards.

Otherwise, im a 21 yr old, 3rd year fine art student from Melbourne, Australia. I started wargaming around a decade ago(1998 or so?) and since had a slew of 40k armies - off the top of my head it went: black templars, orks, tau, deathguard, vanilla space marines, eldar, lost and the damned, dark eldar, alpha legion, feral orks, orks(under new dex), scout marines, daemons
I was a commission painter for around 3 years and painted a number of armies that went on to rack up 'best painted' awards around the australian tournament circuit.
Since 5th ed 40k came out ive given it up to play Privateer Press's 'Hordes' game and focus on my studies.

Im hoping to one day become powerful enough to resurrect the dinosaurs and Elvis. Failing that, I want to do a nice painting of the two coexisting.

Hi, I'm Walter.

I'm a competative 40k player (gasp!), who is somewhat new to the hobby (~2 years). I've played Necrons, Chaos Daemons, Chaos Space Marines and the like. I scored high in the tournament circuit last year.

I help out at modding the general 40k board. I'm mostly a laisse faire type, but you can always get a rise out of me by zinging the competative scene in favor of fluffy stuff.

I write New Codexia's Finest Hour whenever I can get around to it. It's nearly novel length at this point.

Me and my wife, after Scoutfox's wedding.

Hi, I'm Nezalhualixtlan, pronounced Nehz-all-whal-ixt-lan, this has been my online name since probably sometime in 1996-97 when I was playing Quake1 a lot... I started using it because I had picked up some words from the Mayan language in an Archeology course, Nezal = evil / dark, Hual = corn, and Ixtlan was supposedly much like our "er" and "est" denotation of larger degree. So while the name doesn't mean a damned thing in proper Mayan language which I can be relatively sure of, it seemed a funny string of ideas, "Evil powerful corn", and I thought it sounded cool... plus it fit the 15 character limit for Quake1 handles, so after that I just kind of stuck with it as it was fairly unique. You won't find another Nezalhualixtlan on the internet, it's all just me.

Anyway, call me Nez, pretty much everyone does, the full name is a pain in the ass to type out. I also go by John IRL. I'm 31 years of age, coming up on 32 fairly soon this June, married but no kids yet, and living in Boston MA for the past 14 years or so. I grew up in the Philadelphia PA suburbs, and moved up here for college, met a lot of great friends, stuck around and met my wife who I've been with now for the last 10 years, we finally got married 2 years ago. I'm a software developer for a hospital here in Boston, and also am taking classes at night trying to finish up my degree in Computer Science. I'm a big fan of science, reason, logic, and skepticism. I'm very much into reading and studying philosophy, religion, politics, and economics. I find it hard to class my religious beliefs as any one thing, if anything comes close to what I really believe it's probably Natural Pantheism - I don't believe in anything supernatural, but I'm also a bit atheist and agnostic, with a blend of christian and pagan ethics mixed in. As far as politics go, I'm very socially liberal, and pretty fiscally conservative, so neither the Republicans nor Democrats really suit me, I'm therefore a registered Independent, but identify with Libertarian leaning political ideals more than anything else. I highly value both economic and personal civil liberty and freedom, and favor small government then on both accounts so as not to interfere with either. Philsophy-wise I very much like Ayn Rands Objectivism.

I've always been big into Fantasy and Sci-fi for entertainment, love Star Wars, big Joss Whedon fan for Buffy / Angel / Firefly / Dr. Horrible, Lord of the Rings, D&D and Earthdawn, and computer games of all sorts. I'm a big Blizzard fan, and play a good deal of World of Warcraft too. Favorite books include Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan. Favorite movies are probably the Lord of the Rings, but I'm a big fan of Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, The Princess Bride, and V for Vendetta too. Favorite TV show is definitely Penn & Teller Bullshit!, but I like the Daily Show & Colbert Report a lot too.

I've been playing WH40k now for the last year and a half. Some of my college friends (Scoutfox, Karnij7877, and Nightwing) got me into it, and ever since I started considering the game, I pretty much found the Tyranids to be my army of choice. I've always been a big fan of science like I said, and the Tyranids seem to embody the epitome of evolution. I also like the fact that even though they are technically one of the "bad guys" they aren't really evil, they aren't committed to doing evil for evils sake anyway, humanity just happens to be part of their food supply. I like the overwhelming sense of dread they inspire when I think about what it would be like if they were real and spreading across the galaxy consuming whole worlds at a time. I like the fact that meta-game-wise I can watch what's going on as the detached, cold, and ruthless Hive Mind, that has no problem expending their troops like bullets from a gun. I'm currently still collecting Tyranids though my collection is getting large enough to field in Apocalypse games and I'll probably continue to do so and get some Gargantuan Apocalypse units like the Heirodules, Trygon, and finally get my Heirophant together. At some point I'll take a break with a Space Marine & Imperial Guard army because there's some models there I really like the look of, but I think the Tyranids will always be my "home" army.

Here at Tau Online I'm a moderator for the Tyranid Army board, trying to help maintain a friendly and informative base for the education of the various separate pieces of our collective Hive Mind.

Fantastic thread - I do intend to read everyone's post.

Dark Eldar moderator and forum lurker. I play only Dark Eldar in 40k and a very little Dark Elves in fantasy. I play mostly Wych Cult as it is the first army I have ever played when I first started playing 5 or so years ago. I love to see fluffy lists and I really do not care for competitive play and attitudes - sure, I want to win and I know our codex is old but I'd rather lose with a themed army than win with a spam army.

Sorry I do not spend much time with the mods but I do read/lurk a lot there.

Really, I do not believe the game stats that you read here - you know they are not real.

I'm Hive Lord, and I'm second-in-command of the Competitions Committee, as well as helping to moderate the Contests Board.

In real life, my name is Toby and I'm 19. I'm currently at the University of Warwick, England, studying for a degree called Master of Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics, or MMORSE for short.

I bought my first box of 40k (It was a box of Nurgle Plague Marines. I was 8, and had no idea what was going on. They looked pretty.) back in 1997, which means I've been collecting for about 12 years.
My second box, a few weeks later, was a box of Tyranid Termagants, which I loved, and I built up my 'Nid army from there. A few years ago I got it in my head to buy a load of second-hand Orks from eBay, fix 'em up and paint them nicely, and sell them on again. Of course, I spent so long on them I didn't want to get rid of them, and I ended up making an Ork army as well.
I now have around 3500pts of each. I play maybe twice a year against my brother, but I've always enjoyed the painting and conversion side of the hobby more than the gaming side, possibly because I never understood the rules well enough to have a whole game that didn't involve an argument. It's been a long time since I did anything with my models, as I've been busy with uni, but hopefully I'll find some time over the summer to get back into it.

Due to the decrease in time spent on the hobby, my time on TO is mostly confined to the Contests board, which is why I'm a relatively unknown member despite the fact that I've been a member for a very long time - coming up to five years now!
Maybe one day I'll get back into the hobby and post more.
