Xygenic:

That's correct There are exceptions to this for specific armies, with specific rules and all (such as how Lysander works for the boys in yellow). However for general 40k, you always roll reserves separate for each unit.

Cheers!

Teleport homers are wargear. The wargear resides on the character that purchased it, so the character himself is the homer. Some people make a base that is separate for their homer, and while this is cool, it causes problems sometimes for your opponents when it comes to strict rules. Some people model their familiars for example separate from the model, like for Librarians, but typically it's just "wargear" on the model itself.

You cannot purchase a homer and just place it in front of your enemy. It is wargear on the model that purchased it, or it's based and treated as wargear for the model and is simply separate for modeling purposes.

Does the homer only prevent scatter around the unti wit the upgrade, or can DS happen ANYWHERE on the map without scatter?

Well, it states you are placed, centered on the model with the homer. So it's pretty simple... you deepstrike to the homer; you can't use it to just non-scatter anywhere on the board.

Cheers!
