So I decided on a heavier mech force than what I've been playing. The idea being that Sisters have a great platform for denying cover while getting tank-busting troops up the field fast: the Immolator, and adding a little more tankiness. Here's the list:
HQ1 201 pts Palatine with Inferno Pistol, CCwpn 5x Celestians, 2@meltaguns, 3@ bolters Mounted on Immolator HQ2 124 pts Inquisitor Lord Divine Pronouncement, Inferno Pistol, CCwpn Inq. StormTrooper with Meltagun Penitent, Familiar Troops 1-2 280 pts 5x Inq StormTroopers 1@flamer, 4@hellguns Mounted on Chimeras with Multilaser, Heavy Flamer Elites 1-3 450 pts 5x Celestians, 2@meltaguns, 3@bolters Mounted on Immolators Fast Attacks 1-3 360 pts 5x Dominions with bolters Mounted on Immolators Heavy 1-2 270 pts Exorcists Heavy 3 65 pts Immolator Totals: 8 Immolators 2 Exorcists 2 Chimeras (12 tanks) 50 bodies 9 meltaguns 2 Inferno Pistols The idea is to mount my Inquisitor in the Heavy Support Immolator and have him use Divine Pronouncement where possible. With the mobility I have, I envision "coralling" low-leadership enemy squads, forcing them to fall back and annihilating them when they can't. That's the "Fun" part of my list, though with the number of tanks and anti-tank I think its a pretty hefty list. The weakness is lack of "Troops". In objective missions this could hurt, but my strategy will 99% of the time be to sit the Troops (in Chimeras) and Exorcists in the backfield near my objective(s) and deny my opponent his objectives. With Divine Pronouncement pushing his troops off when possible, and 8 Immos and their crews pushing up the field I think this should be possible. I thought of maximizing this list by getting rid of the Inquisitor/Retinue and buying another Troop, and with leftover points buying even more meltaguns, but I like the idea of a crazy Inquisitor (with a "talking" rat as his Familiar giving him tactical "advice") too much fun not to do. ;D It also allows me to field a Land Raider at 2000 points, which while not uber-competitive, rounds out my tank force and gives a nicely themed look. Thoughts welcome |

I used an army with an Inquisitor Lord with Divine pronouncement before. I tell you, his nick name from my local game club became Inquisitor Boo!
He didnt allways scare away units, but he sure was annoying. I love that you have included such an inquisitor! On to the army list in general. Lots of Immolators. Thats nice of course. But in the end, its the SoB units that are the strength of the WH codex. I would instead get some Rhinos and increase the number of battle sisters, equip them with flamers. This would give you basically the same effect (battle sisters can even have heavy flamer). Now the upside here is that divine guidance will work wounders for you in combination with the flamer. It takes away the cover save, as it is a flamer and has a possibility to rending. An Immolator doesnt have that possibility... I'll look into the list more later on. First I need to visit the toilet... Yours Truly Vash

"Inquisitor Boo!!" I love it! Yes, I can see him being quite a nuisance on the table top, especially anything other than Necrons and Daemons. Every other army I can force a test at Ld 8 on their troops, and with Tau/Eldar/Orks/IG the odds are even better. Sadly, the GW store I game at most people use SMurfs and quite a few use Necron Monolith spam lists.
As an alternative I had thought about getting a second Canoness HQ with retinue on an Immolator and taking on a 3rd troop, but I like the Inquistiness too much. I am very competitive, but don't want to get an uber-spam list at the cost of the "fun" factor for me. |

Well I was looking through the codex to check up some rules.
A combo I am thinking of doing my self is adding a Culexus Assassin. Problem here is the movement and placing of the Culexus. With his Souless ability he will lower friend and foes ld to 7 within 12". This can back fire big time of course. But I was thinking of using the outflank rule here. Placing the inquisitor with his transport somewhere in the middle. And when the Culexus arrives the inquisitor heads in that direction to start his dirty work. This should, if everything works out as it should, scare off any SM unit, unless they are fearless. Ld7 as a base with souless ability, Ld10 on the =I= lord, gives a ending result of Ld 4 to the SM unit in question. Now as mensioned before, the problem comes with on how to use the Assassin. He will be a target as soon as he is seen. But, perhaps when he comes in, there are other things to focus on that are more important. Yours Truly Vash
