Default Multiple allies and inquisitors

Alright, it's clearly possible for a IG or SM army to have both sisters and daemonhunters as allies, right?

Now, an assassin requires an inquisitor be present to be purchased, right? Typically, this is a lord, as allies only grants you one inquisition elite slot.

Here's the tricky bit...does the lord need to be part of the same inquisition allies as the assassin? IE, if you take DH and sisters, and have a DH elite inq, can you then take an assassin in the sisters elite slot?

Yes the assassin can only come from the same codex as the inquisitor.

The Assassin must come from the same Codex as the Inquisitor Lord; the FAQs for both Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters states this (though the Witch Hunters FAQ is slightly more explicit on the matter).

Aw...tis a shame. I love the IC status of the elite, being able to stash him in a unit for the morale benefits(plus psicannon) is awesome. Much better than blowing points on overpriced retinue.

Oh well.
