Default Somethings missing from the new rulebook...

Well, I just picked up the 5th edition rules, and skimmed through it. In the section that covers the different armies and gives a brief story of a campaign, where is the Inquisition? There is a campaign story for the Marines, Imperial Guard, Chaos Marines, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau, Orks, and Necrons, and even one for the Chaos Daemons, but there is no section for the Sisters of Battle or the Grey Knights!

Did GW just lose their heads? Or Does the Inquisition not merit a campaign story?

I must say, I was very disappointed.

Well, the Inquisition is an investigative body and they hardly go on go on campaigns, that's the job of the Imperial Guard and Space Marines. But I'm also quite disappointed that they make any fluff story.

indeed, the inquisition as a body does not conduct crusades on its own, wheras both marines and guard do. like zenny said, they are simply an investigative force, they follow the crusades and are there to simply purge and weed out heretics and the influence of chaos amongst the loyal soldiers of the emperor.

although it wouldve been cool if there was some more fluff on them, as it is the current codex is a bit lax on that.

The Inquisition (particularly the Sororitas) do take part in crusades though. Even the dark eldar who take part in nothing more than piratical raids have a fluff section and map. You think there would at least be a map showing Cardinal worlds and maybe a brief story of Saint Celestine.

I was about to say, surely the Sororitas are the exception? Grey Knights are a Space Marine chapter (an awesome one but that's irrelevant) so are already sorta covered, and the Inquisition doesn't go out fighting in the same way that other forces do. But the Sororitas are a fighting body and should really be represented.

Why would the Inquisition have a campaign? They operate in secret.

Any co-operating forces(Guard and Astartes) would either be killed or mind-wiped upon completion of the mission.

Oh I don't know, maybe the battle sisters who participated in various crusades, or the Grey Knights who assist the Cadians at the eye of terror could get some mention.

But don't Grey Knights operate very secretly? I mean, Cadians probably have a fairly decent knowledge of Chaos (at least as far as ordinary humans go), but I doubt even they would know of the activities of the Grey Knights(outside the Lord Castellan of course).

Sisters? They've probably done a fair bit, but since it concerns burning the heretic so much, it might be better to keep that info away from the comman man .

That's irrelevant. Just because the records and such were removed doesn't mean it never happened.

Why would the space marines and guardsmen be mind wiped? You can't cover up a system wide crusade just by cleaning out he memories of the people who participated. The Grey Knights and Sisters participate in crusades just like the conventional Imperial Forces. The Order of Our Martyred Lady fought against the Orks on Armageddon for example.
