Hi! I play a Daemon Hunter army for a year now. I got 12 grey knights, 7 grey knights termies, one inquisitor and a Vindicaire Assasin (the sniper). So far I play 1000 games.

I am planning on expending my army. I could add Grey Knights dreadnoughts, but I was also considering going cross army. I was curious to know if space marines would be a good complement to my grey knights.

Usually I try to lock the adversary in close combat. I am looking for units that could help the knights while they advance on the first turns. Either heavy firepower or speedy units that diverse enemy while the GK makes their way to the close combat.

Does anybody have some units to recommend me? I don't know the Space Marines so I have no idea of what is efficient. Plus there is so many choices..... Also is someone think of another race than the space marines to go with the GK please let me know (I'm not a sisters fan, but ideas are welcome)!

Shouldn't this be in the Inquisition section, as you only want to expand your GK's.

Yes, this should be in the Inquisition boad, but you can't take allied Space marines with Grey Knights, it says so in the Daemonhunters codex.

Yes you can have Space Marine allies with the Deamonhunters codex, you can choose any loyal army as long as you have only one army allied to you.

I know that most people use Space Marines with allied Daemon Hunter rather than the contrary. So I came here since I thought that some people might actually play SM with allied DH. Also I imagined that you guys would know the SM better than people playing DH or sisters.

He can only have space marines if there are no grey knights. They can't go together. Imperial guard sure, but no space marines. If it was a space marine army with grey knight support then that would also be fine. But not a deamon hunter army with grey knights.

If I was you I'd probably decide where I wanted to go from there: A pure Grey Knights force or a Deamonhunters one. If you're going to just use anything in the codex I'd say you should get some Inquisitorial stormtroopers as these tend to work wonders as meatshields and expendable troops in my friend's Deamonhunter army.

If you're going to go pure GK you should probably get either some more Basic Grey Knights to use a fast attack teleporters or something heavy like a dreadnought.
