I am about to put down some serious $$$ building my first 2000 pt army...it's going to be Grey Knights with inducted Imp Guard. I also want this force to be flexible since it will be fighting at the local Games Workshop against virtually everything. This is *MY* idea of a good and flexible force, but all feedback would be greatly appreciated before I pull out my charge card!!
The Legio Exterminatus Grand Master Rendar Dakx Inquisitor Lord Mordecai the Pure HQ Selection: 111 points Grey Knights Brother Captain Severius Weapons: Psycannon Wargear: Holocaust Power Elite Selection 1: 32 points Inquisitor Justinian Weapons: Boltpistol, Close combat weapon Wargear: Teleport Homer Elite Selection 2: 22 points Inquisitor Malachi Weapons: Boltpistol, Close combat weapon Elite Selection 3: 120 points Callidus Assassin Troop Selection 1: 167 points Imperial Guard Armored Fist Squad [1st Tactical] (10 Guardsmen) Character: Sergeant with laspistol and close combat weapon Heavy Weapons Crew: Mortar Crew Transport: Chimera with turret-mounted multilasers, hull-mounted heavy bolters, and pintle-mounted heavy stubbers Troop Selection 2: 182 points Imperial Guard Armored Fist Squad [2nd Tactical] (10 Guardsmen) Character: Sergeant with laspistol and close combat weapon Heavy Weapons Crew: Lascannon Crew Transport: Chimera with turret-mounted multilasers, hull-mounted heavy bolters, and pintle-mounted heavy stubbers Troop Selection 3: 163 points 9 Inquisitorial Stormtroopers [Alaric's Fist] Weapons: Meltagun, Flamer Transport: Rhino with extra armor and smoke launchers Troop Selection 4: 158 points 9 Inquisitorial Stormtroopers [The Black Watch] Weapons: 2 Flamers Transport: Rhino with extra armor and smoke launchers Fast Attack Selection 1: 275 points Grey Knights Justicar Rubicus 7 Grey Knights Weapons: 2 Psycannons Fast Attack Selection 2: 275 points Grey Knights Justicar Pallidus 7 Grey Knights Weapons: 2 Psycannons Fast Attack Selection 3: 60 points Imperial Guard Armageddon Pattern Sentinel Weapons: Lascannon Wargear: Extra Armor Heavy Selection 1: 155 points Leman Russ Battle Tank [Puerta Mortis] Weapons: Hull-mounted heavy bolters, sponson-mounted heavy flamers Heavy Selection 2: 140 points Grey Knights Dreadnought Exar Dakx Weapons: Twin-linked lascannon, Missile launcher Heavy Selection 3: 140 points Grey Knights Dreadnought Morbius Weapons: Twin-linked lascannon, Missile launcher Several explanations: 1) Instead of paying 20 points for a Veteran Stormtrooper, I will attach an Inquisitor to each Inquisitorial Stormtrooper squad. The 20 points for the Inquisitor gives me better stats, and I needed one to field the Callidus Assassin anyway. 2) The Callidus Assassin's "Word in Your Ear" ability and the Sentinel's "free" scout move before the game begins could be very advantageous, thus my inclusion of the otherwise weak Sentinel. Looking forward to all your comments..... |

id say thats an ok list myself, the sentinel can be very dangerous as most opponents look at them and then dismiss it as a less than minor threat
one thing i willsay is that i wouldnt use som much on the inquisitors, ok i mena its a good idea to take one for the use of an assassin, but id much rather take a grand master in a 2000point list (the advantage of wounds of course) and then take the inquisitors for fifty one points with psycannons and targeters, this gives youa mobile independant unit with essentially a str6 heavy bolter. Also i might try to give both of the stormtrooper squads just eight men and give them all meltas or all plasmas as theyre in fast mobile chimeras which can just get you that much closer to the enemy's armour units, although the dreadnaughts and the sentinel have some considerable punch in this area too so you might lean closer to the armour piercing plasma for those troublesome termies anyway, looks like a good list but i always think that with army lists you should write one up and then play it a couple of times (evenj if it is proxy) so that you can see how it actually performs and then work out the bugs
