Default Sisters of Battle

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to start a new army in the coming year. Having seen a couple of the models and the Cannoness i really like SOB. However im not too sure about their play style, cost (money wise) and modeling skill required.

I also need to purchase the codex, but i am unsure what one it is, do they have their own? or are they incorporated into the Witch hunter Codex?

Any info and help is great!!

Thanks!

Rich

They're in the Whichhunters list.

so what your saying is that oven cleaner can remove paint from plastic models? and after that, you take a toothbrush to your plastic model, and the paint just comes off?

Basically a Codex is just a book with stories, profiles, wargear and points cost of a model or models.

You'll find SoB in the Witch Hunters Codex. Which is their Codex.

Just for future reference, anything to do with SoB will need to go into the Inquisition Forum. Not the Space Marine Forum.

The Sisters of Battle (from what I've heard at least) are pretty much a mechanized, close-quarter firepower list. They can pull off some wonky bonuses with "Faith Points".

This ought to be moved shortly, since as others have said, the Sisters of Battle are not Space Marines by any stretch of the imagination.

Like Dra'Tuisich-Novae said, the Sisters play a mechanized, close ranged firepower list. They don't have too much access to long ranged weaponry, but have a lot of cheap, powerful short ranged special weapons available to them, and have very good access to transports to get them within their effective range quickly.

I'll say one thing for sure. If you don't have a very big wallet, don't think about Sisters of Battle. Sisters of Battle are a completely metallic force, except for the plastic bodies of their Vehicles (Rhinos, Immolators, Exorcists, etc.). Unlike Inquisitional forces that aren't purely SoB, SoB really don't have many conversion opportunities, so finding cheap replacements for their models is hard. There just aren't many armoured girlies in 40k. Inquisitional Stormtroopers can be made out of normal plastic Guardsmen, Grey Knights can be made out of plastic Space Marines and Nemesis Force Weapon/Storm Bolter arms from bitz catalogs, but Sisters really don't have alternatives.

They're not going to bankrupt Bill Gates or anything, but they've been classified as one of the more expensive armies in the game. If you are worried about their price, hopefully you can find some Sisters on Ebay, or in our very own Trading Board for a good price.

Since they're all metal they've got a lot of detail, and if you're not too much of an experienced painter that might be an issue for you. But besides that they don't require too much "skill".

Thanks ToastMaster and Dra'Tuisich-Novae, you have been a great help. I think maybe i will wait a while with them being all metal and all. Got a flat and a wedding to pay for! So i think the woman might have problems with me forking out on this stuff .

They do sound like a really unique style! and i look forward to starting them one day!

Thanks!!
