I would really like som comments on this list. Is there anything I've overlooked? Any tweaks you come to think of?
I will NOT remove the Daemonhost, but other than that I am open to suggestions. Daemonhosts are underpowered and over pointed for their role. With no power weapon attacks they are difficult to use and being fearless, if they lose combat (which is too easy with their pathetic save) they get mowed over by the stupid fearless and out numbered rules. But they are still awesome and if you manage to roll the right powers at the right time they can kick serious ass. "Take six pinning tests" or "4 of your marines are dead" or now "I'm toughness 7 strength 9" or "now I'm back to 4 wounds" but their powers are so random they are difficult to use. But no matter what happens, they are awesome!

I've made some changes to the list after testplaying it against some friends of mine, and regarding the Daemonhost, he is there mostly because of fluff (and the fact I built him myself).
The way it now stands, my army consists of an IG-core of 3 lascannon, and 3 autocannon in a static line backed up by a chimera (for rapid extraction of one of the autocannon teams in the event it should be needed), and supported by death cult assassins for counter charges. 2 IST-squads in rhinos, Leman Russ and Land Raider + HQ (and sometimes the chimera with command squad) make out the fast section of the army. They will try to focus and smash through to take objectives or dominate a flank to support the static elements. The Callidus, Daemonhost and Sentinel are primarily meant to support this thrust, so timing will be critical. I will have to carefully adjust my tactics according to objectives and the enemy I'm facing, and I know it will be hard in a tournament setting, but I'm looking forward to playing and showing of a themed army ![]() /LtCariad |
