Default Can you rate my Daemonhunters force

I have just started Daemonhunters and have made a list. Any advice would be useful. I do not mind using Allies if it improves the Force.

Grey Knight Hero Brother Captain, Targeter, 4 Grey Knight Terminators, 1 Incinerator

Troops

Stormtrooper Squad (10)
2 grenade launchers

Stormtrooper Squad (10)
2 grenade launchers

8 Grey Knights
Targetter

8 Grey Knights
Targetter, Melta Bombs

Grey Knights Dreadnought
Weapons: Twin-linked Lascannon, Upgraded Missile Launcher, Extra Armor

1000pts (roughly)

I don't see anything wrong with the list except that it has only one armored vehicle. The Dreadnaught will probably go down quickly if it's your only armor. You could drop a few of the Grey Knights for a couple of Rhinos to act as mobile terrain to cover your knights as they advance or limit enemies shooting at them and spread out your opponent's anti tank to help keep the Dreadnaught alive.

Also what are your plans for the Terminators, at 1000pts you have a lot of points sunk into them and relatively few soldiers, you might be better off dropping the Terminators accompanying the Brother Captain for some more storm troopers and standard Grey Knights.

Lastly the Brother Captain is IMO a waste, with one wound he won't last long in any kind of combat, your best bet is to probably go with the Grand Master in most if not all situations. Too bad there isn't a 2 wound GK officer, it seems rather rediculous that a Grey Knight Brother Captain has only a single wound don't you think?

FYI: Targeters aren't legal kit for models in termie armour. The DH armoury is definitely confusing; you have to have an eagle eye for detail with all the superscripts and notes about which models can take which wargear and weapons.

At 1000 pts, I wouldn't usually take anything more than a single BC with a psycannon. At this points level, you need all the troops you can muster. Note that GKTs cost almost as much as two PAGKs, and at 1000 pts, the additional models, shots, and high-S melee attacks are better investments. You'll probably register more kils with them. I like the simple BC+psycannon combo because it's cheap and because, as an independent character, he is perfectly safe from harm for as long as you like. The termie armour means he can march around, always firing the psycannon at max range, killing units and light armour with ease without fear of retribution. And in a pinch, you can throw him into an assault to ensure victory.

ISTs are fine Troops, but I wouldn't bother with GLs. Always pick meltas or plasma. GLs don't offer anything that GKs don't already handle better, namely, anti-infantry fire. Give your ISTs meltas and a transport (probably a rhino) and go tank-hunting. That's something GKs don't do well. Alternatively, give them plasma, and hopefully a chimera, too, and you've got a great light firebase capable of tackling heavy infantry and light armour from range. Again, something that GKs don't do well themselves.

I would strongly recommend a tank-hunting squad -- you only need to have 5-6 ISTs and that rhino to make it work, so it's quite affordable -- to take some of the heat off your dreadnought.

These are great.

Again, perfect. The only problem is, like Vash113 noted, this is your only armour on the board, and also your only anti-armour unit. That makes him Public Enemy Number 1 to your opponent. I'd strongly recommend you field at least one more armoured/anti-armour unit. Either tank-hunting ISTs or another dread. This 2nd dread could even be the cheaper and somewhat more flexible AC/DCCW dread and rely on rending to bust tanks at short range. But if pure tank-hunting is what you're looking for, ISTs or TLLC/ML dreads are really the answer. AC/DCCW dreads just aren't as statistically reliable, and must be close to the enemy to have any shot at performing.
